If you said, "To make Muslim countries feel good about themselves," you agree with Of course there are lesser goals as well with the top three rounded out by, "Re-inspiring children to want to get into math and science," and "Improving our international relations." Funny I thought NASA used to be interested in putting stuff in space.

Too true, like approximately 90% of the rest of all levels of government it's a relic and should be killed off completely. However, if it's going to exist should it have as its primary mission to make Muslims feel good about themselves? I guess this is what we get when the looters have spent all of the money buying votes and paying off their political cronies such that NASA can't afford to put anything in space anymore.
