Before you laugh consider fire officials say all of the fires started virtually at the same time at an odd time on a perfect day for spreading a large fire. This is a very populous area.

It’s quite possible. ISIS et al has long called for these asymmetric type attacks on the US and elsewhere.
I looked at the Drought Monitor today, and that area was listed as dry, but not in a drought. So the ferocity seems to have been enabled by human intervention IMO.

Weird, the first two articles I found from yesterday, 2 Cali local stations. Both say that officials aren’t sure, and it “could be anything”.
Likely downed power lines.

So Santa Rosa weather station recorded a max wind gust of 36 MPH on the 9th and 40 MPH on the 8th. Pretty low to be knocking down multiple power lines. But people accusing power company of poor maintenance.
