Certainly the thing will go generic right?
After 20 years or whatever. But there are so many big problems with our medical system that can be fixed by legislation that seems like a pretty poor consolidation.
The drug was first approved in 1998(although it’s still not approved for my condition, only 2 medications are and the second was only approved this past Halloween) and I do get the generic version of it.
Are you saying that your cost is for the generic version? Cause if so that doesn’t really seem like a pharmaceutical POS thing. It must be incredibly hard to make if a bunch of competitors aren’t willing to make a version for even half as much.

My kids have been bugging me to play Minecraft and I finally did this weekend and holy crap I had no idea how fun it was.

The shame part is now my wife and I are starting to play it in our own world when the kids go to bed so they don’t mess up our stuff!

The New Joe Montgomery Birther Pit / Re: LOL TRUMP

Many people are saying Trump fell asleep in court today.  It remains unclear if he's just a feeble, old, low-T loser or if his own legal team drugged him to finally get him to STFU.

Most of court is boring AF. I would fall asleep if I was an 80 year old man for sure.

Reem's with the family at a table and tang is at a high top with the player. Tang: "Now our fans are the best in the world... but when you're losing they're gonna get on your head!" lmao

Precision is needed in professional environments like law or research and totally understandable. Everyday common speech though? Get over yourself imho.  ;)
I have a similar peeve for people who correct something grammar/usage wise despite knowing exactly what you meant, which is really the whole point of language if you think about it.

The best example of this are people who insist that you cannot end a sentence with a preposition (which often makes sentences more convoluted) while simultaneously refusing to use the Oxford comma.

fun news, the Grammar Police have recently issued a ruling that it's actually fine to end a sentence in a preposition. I guess the whole "no ending a sentence in a prepo" comes from latin-based languages, which english is not, so like, its actually fine. Wish they would have issued that ruling when i was in high school and having to write lots of papers.

Which means it was never a rule. That also doesn’t stop a lot of people going around trying to impose the made up crap they learned in 7th grade English class like they’re that Japanese soldier who kept fighting WWII for 30 years after it was over.

D2 also mentioned that his new company is the type to acquire other companies. Which seems true because they have all of these random ass locations on their website. So, another funny part of the call was him mentioning the possibility of the new company acquiring the old company. He said, "and if that happens, it's like, 'COO, you're gone. CFO, gone. Don't need you any more.'" I was thinking to myself, "oh, you've been thinking about this for a while." 100% chance that he suggests this idea to the new company.
for this to come full circle, i hope you work for him and his new company acquires one of the other companies that employ you.  everyone will be asking you if you’ve met the other chum1 yet.   you’ll have to join team meetings with two different laptops and only be able to turn on one camera.  this will turn into a movie.
Crap I really need to see this movie

I'm torn bc there are parts of that post I agree with and then the next sentence is a 180 sucker punch but still doesn't negate the parts I agree with. This is a pickle.
I really don’t see it as anything other than an upper middle class dude desperately wanting to be a victim of society.

The taxation stuff I get. Not about the poor but the rich. Like I, me personally, I paid more in taxes than Jeff bezos, Elon musk, and Bill Gates combined. Which seems backwards. Also I hate the line jumpers. Like if you're too important to have to wait your turn like everyone else then you can actually eat my entire ass. The rest of it I agree is just this man's desperate attempt to be able to call himself the victim of something.
My response is MEH

I’m in favor of a wealth tax, but if we’re going to give stupid tax breaks to people for stuff like paying a mortgage, I think it makes sense for job creators to have tax breaks too.

Also the entire post is from the perspective of “poor me why don’t people think better of me for making a lot on my W-2.” If your gripe is that the mega rich could be shouldering more of the US tax burden you can easily make that argument without sounding like such a wuss.

Since KSUW stopped posting I had forgotten about the plight of the $200-$300k laborer.

I bet Kentucky gets Drew.

I agree.  I wouldn't expect Drew to flirt with an offer this much otherwise.
Unless he just hasn’t secured whatever salary bump/extension he was hoping to get from Baylor yet.

What would Jesus do?

Prolly secure that bag.
Pay to Caesar what is Caesar’s, ima get mine.

But only one beat his lady (allegedly). That seems like a Kentucky thing.

That is both the lamest reason for a lib scandal and also the lamest scandal.

I guess you’re not gonna bat 1000 as a perpetual victim.

Invincible S2 just ended. Don't really mind they split it all up, they even made a hilarious self jab joke in one of the episodes about how long animation takes. Though I will say the season finale, while good, really spent a ton of time setting up things, so it dragged I feel like. Still excited for S3, whenever it drops.
Yeah this is why I hate finding out about a series midway through the first season. That finale didn’t feel like a finale at all.

Interesting, wikipedia lists the population of Storrs at 15K. I had always assumed that it was situated inside an east coast megalopolis.

Edit: some more crazy UConn facts:

I really wonder whether that’s a coincidence or not. I definitely feel like some teams are built for tournament rather than conference play.

I always liked the teams with a gimmick like “Press Virginia” or Syracuse with that 2-3 zone. Your in conference opponents will know what to expect and how to break it, but there isn’t much time for tournament opponents to adjust.

Purdue decided to live or die by Edey but he was not up to the task this time.

Bro had 37 & 10, wasn't his fault
Obviously not saying it’s his fault. It just seemed obvious that Purdue had no backup plan.

Edey turned it on a bit at after my post when UConn’s big got in foul trouble, but they never overcame that slump from early in the second half where he went cold.

Some people just don’t know what to do with themselves in retirement. I could see it from that perspective.

Got lucky that the clouds cleared here at the house just long enough.
Same here. Admittedly, it was a little cooler than I gave it credit for. @DBT, I think it's awesome that you are jazzed for it, and out there living your best life at all these various travels. You're my hero! Side note, I'm a dumb dumb. I was expecting it to get much darker. Anybody else? It definitely made me appreciate how dang powerful the sun's light is.
I was very curious about the light situation since nighttime typically includes light reflecting off the moon. Didn’t really have any particular expectations though.

Same. It was touch and go for a while but delivered just in time.

I mean, there are a bunch of attorneys going around suing soda companies because their label says "preservative free" even though it contains citric acid--A KNOWN PRESERVATIVE. Those guys are really just chasing a right to collect their own fees. The same type of attorney would be happy to take a case that is (i) expedited, and (ii) won simply by showing your guy had a lease.

I don't take exception with anything in your second point, other than to say the anti-squatter law we've been talking about does not move the needle in either direction to make that situation better or worse. Obviously the tenant's hand is forced to act if they get kicked out of their own home by a landlord willing to perjure themselves.
