I have no idea, but in looking at Harvey's political contributions over the years . . .they were 90% plus #blueanon

but just to be clear, the implication is that some blueanon politician put his/her thumb on the scale here?

Why is it in your world, those types of things never-ever happen?

While we're at it, Michelle's loving words about Harvey were made after the Obama's were in the White House for nearly 5 years.  Imagine with me, you're a resident in a house just down the hall from arguably the most powerful office in the world.  Your husband is the POTUS.

Between you and him, you are surrounded by advisors.  The most powerful domestic law enforcement entities in the world (arguably) are a phone call away, in one case a law enforcement/security entity with the power to override certain presidential decisions stands mere feet away.  Yet somehow, some way, not one rep or advisor pulled Michelle Obama and her husband aside and told them Harvey W is a huge perv weirdo who sexually assaults and abuses women . . . these entities didn't have a single clue??

i never said those types of things never ever happen. what i am doing, however, is attempting to get you to just say whatever it is you are thinking. and by "just say" i mean just say, not toss up some vague word salad that just alludes to or implies that <thing X> is true, but juuuuust non-committal enough (in your mind anyway) that you can still reasonably pivot to the next thing before pivoting to the next thing and so on.

i want you to pick a lane

I mean, name one politician you could trust with that power?

There is no human that can go through what is needed to go through to be president that wouldn't abuse the crap out of that power.

Something like 20-30 companies would effectively hold that same power immediately upon the ruling being made.  Is this not setting up the king for a day scenario, but forever instead of a day?

I didn't listen to the argument and don't know what the specific case issues are, but it seems to me like SCOTUS could easily avoid almost all the legal questions involved by just saying there is no way you can consider a president's conspiracy to undermine his own elected ouster to be an "official act" of a president. That is, quite possibly, the most ridiculous thing I could imagine any U.S. court ruling--much less the Supreme Court.

Trump's position is premised on the argument that he should only be subject to criminal prosecution if he is impeached and convicted by the senate, but if undermining the political process itself is part of the immunity then that qualification is meaningless in the hands of a tyrant, who could simply threaten/coerce/assassinate any who would seek to carry out impeachment proceedings. The democratic experiment would be over.

That may sound alarmist, but what I'm actually getting at here is "losing" this case only means that the Supreme Court declines to give clearer instructions as to whether immunity for criminal charges is ever an option for acts taken by a president. There's no way he gets out of facing charges for Jan. 6.

The fact that the court even agreed to hear the case at all should be incredibly alarming. I will admit I am no SCOTUS scholar and this may be a question for spracs et al but has SCOTUS ever agreed to hear a case that would directly (or maybe more precisely, immediately) impact so few people? Seems like usually they are ruling on topics that will then apply to several many Americans on day 1 and many more in the future. Even if presidents lived forever we are still talking about a ruling that will directly impact fewer than 50 total people (and that includes in the future bc if trump gets what he wants he will be the last president)

there are very few things for which i give purp any credit...but one thing i have to give him credit for...you can tell him straight up "hey that thing you are condoning, that's a war crime" and he doesn't even bother with the whole "well, maybe it shouldn't be a war crime anymore" he just goes straight to the "well then i guess that means i'm cool with war crimes"

and even some of the most hardcore right wing people you'll find will at least flinch at the idea of encouraging/endorsing war crimes. not our guy purp, tho. no equivocating, just tells you what he thinks about it. really quite something.  Honestly i wish more conservatives would follow that model of tell 'em how you really feel.

do smart phones ever appear in your guys' dreams? I can't think of a single dream i've had where there was a smart phone.

about 1/5 of the time I use mine it decides that the blending is no longer an immersive experience but should be exmmersive. which sucks. but almost certainly user error.

Nothing gets #blueanongE in deflectocon mode like having to talk about our too feeble to stand trial shakes hands with invisible people POTUS
Are you talking about tiny hands or Truck Pile Driver Biden?

Trump is on trial, your dusty old turd was determined to be too mentally feeble to be prosecuted for "mishandling" classified documents. Llike storing them in Chinese funded facilities, sharing classified information to people who didn't have security clearances and allowing non security clearance holding people to have access to the documents. Like his crackhead son.

I'll know return you to the rest of #blueanongE to flog your hog fantasizing about Joe's fake sex life. I mean, imagine listening to that dusty old fart spin one line of bullshit after another and then believing he's still laying pipe.

. . . end of sentence, wait for applause, full stop . . .

(imagine following around like a little puppy dog on here, raging out about every little thing I say and then not know this)

Going along with dax's hardworkin/hardscrewin theme how about "big Rig Joe"?

As our wise forebears were wont to say, the apple doesn't fall far from the tree, me boys.

You get him the ball in space by whatever means necessary and watch him score touchdowns

Most correct take. He's the threat, the guy that can break one. Not sure he's the down by down grinder. But hell if you got a grinder, an of the top threat, and an in space threat you got a recipe for a defensive breaking team.

Just having both him and Avery in the backfield, defenses won't know how to act and it should create some favorable matchups

I forgor about how earlier in the season we were doing that thing where we didn't score any runs and then we started according runs and it was a lot of fun but not we aren't scoring runs again.

Also I'd blow a homeless guy if it meant our starters could make it past the 5th inning

however many lbs it was agreed that Avery needs to put on so that he won't get broken...that number of lbs could easily be cut in half with the addition of a guy like DE in the backfield

I don't think I am going too far out on a limb by saying that #blogkaren holds the same thoughts towards anyone criticizing Israel.

As expected you've completely ignored the entirety of the situation choosing only to focus on me, which for you (like many on here) is 1000% on brand.

counterpoint: i think you're going out past the end of the limb a la Wile E Coyote. I mean, spracs is his own man and can speak for himself, but i would bet my bottom dollar he absolutely unequivocally knows the difference between the State of Israel and Judaism

Whoah, wasn't expecting to catch a stray, here. I don't know what dax is talking about. But if I said anything along those lines, I was rough ridin' with him.

a headscratcher, indeed. i was trying to figure what world view he was trying to bolster, and i'm not sure even he can keep it straight. Or he might actually be saying the whole event is blueanongE cannibalism? the protesters are blueanongE (because they're...antisemitic i guess? not sure when exactly that got woven into the narrative) and also the fact that they were being arrested is classic blueanongE fascism.

I realize things like words and facts are essentially meaningless to me boy dax, but at this point i think he's just using AI to generate some kind of word salad

22
The primary point is that clearly our elite colleges are full of anti-Semites and on the flip side anti-free speachers as the crack down on pro-Palestinian protesters is occurring at many campuses right now.

This has to be very disheartening as prog-libs have devolved into fascistic #blueanon at our institutions of higher learning. #sad

ok dax i'll ask you as plainly as i can: do you think that the protesters (and those sympathetic to them) are antisemitic? I realize you haven't met each of them and can't speak to their feelings but i'm asking the general vibe they are representing.

As we're finally getting a look at what Jack Smith wanted to redact (he's an amazing clown, but very much in the vein of the majority of #blueanon clowns)

It appears that so far the documents are much to do about nothing, but it's also comforting that Don Trump is apparently mentally competent enough to stand before the man on this, while our sitting POTUS was deemed to be a mentally incapacitated old turd and thus was not capable of standing trial for doing the exact same thing that Trump was alleged to have done.
:D

As I explained to you yesterday, a regular participant on this blog apparently thinks that criticism of Israel is antisemitism.

Using that logic, apparently the most elite universities in our nation are teaming with antisemitic types both in the student populace and the faculty. Such institutions are also generational #blueanon strongholds.

#tisapickle  :blank:

edit: On the flipside other insituations of higher learning appear to be cracking down on anti-Israeli demonstrators and trampling over 1st amendment rights of individuals.

This is truly a holistic lesson in the fascistic tendencies of #blueanon

oh i see. So this really isn't a commentary on the protests or the handling thereof, but rather you having your feelings hurt because - through some doxastic logic gymnastics - you have decided that sprac's accusing you of being antisemitic is because you were critical of Israel (and definitely not something else)?
