i'm just speculating, of course, but i bet if zobzie had batted that inning, he'd have walked or tripled, not grounded out to third.
Dyson is 4 for his last 29. His walk was basically useless since he didn't steal. I Just don't get it. He tries to steal 3rd with 2 outs a few times (not a ton gained from him being at 3rd rather than 2nd with 2 outs). 1st and 3rd is so ideal to steal. Catcher might not even throw, even if does, Dyson is great at stealing
you do this weird thing where you evaluate the value of a play by what happens in subsequent plays.
i love steals. i love dyson. he's good at stealing. part of what makes him good is how fast he is. part of it is getting a read on the pitcher. he's an aggressive player, if he'd have got his read, he'd have gone.
Yes I do that sometimes.
There is no reason for Dyson to not go there. Bauer was pitching a gem. First and Third, you force the action. Dyson doesn't need a great read off the pitcher to steal there in that situation. I think it's 50/50 the catcher even attempts the throw.
If it's Esky at 1st or Cain or even Rios.... I would "like" to steal there, but not mandatory . With Dyson at first, I'm sorry it's a must.
we still won, so it's all good.
