Guys, the Royals have 60 wins and it's not August yet. Let that sink in.

it is reasonably realistic to believe that by mid August this year's team will be in the top 10 in season wins (for the franchise) post-strike

I took my kids to the St. Louis zoo today. Found some St. Louis sports talk show on the way back to the hotel. Turned it on, and the topic was the Royals, for like, 10 minutes.

Life as a KC fan.

Posse stat of the night....

Hos has been of fire.  After his ave dipped to .280 in early July (lowest ave since Apr 17), he is 28-64 with 12 RBI in his last 16 games.

Will be there this weekend. Plan on wearing my WS hat to Friday's game and talking about being part of the best fanbase in baseball.

I saw probably 15 or 20 folks wearing a Royals shirt or hat today at the STL zoo. KC folks are representing on the road

Granted, he's pitched well a few times and I appreciate that. However, the ERA doesn't (nor could it) reflect the 3 he gave up on his first pitch tonight. That's why ERA is so misleading for relievers--it doesn't take in to account inherited runs scored. That said, he has been of some help and pitched two decent innings tonight, giving the pen some more rest. Unfortunately for him, it sure looks like he's the odd man out when Cueto is activated.

they'd be stupid to release him.  young can use a rest.  just put him on the dl and call him back in september.  it makes so much more sense (except maybe for young, who might refuse).

he eats innings.  that's exactly what the royals need someone to do.

Trouble for him is that he's caught in the numbers game. Someone has to go, and it won't be Young or Guts. And they won't be able to tuck Young away on the  DL.

Takes an actual injury. "Tired" doesn't qualify. MLB polices this pretty closely. (Unfortunately, he is looking tired).

Cueto tweeted a pic of himself in a KCR uni to his former Reds teammate and roommate Volquez, and won't tell Ed where he got the uni.

I already love this guy Cueto. #RoyalCueto

Was listening to PTI today and it got me pretty nervous. Baseball is so random, even with a 7 game series. Last year two wild card teams made the WS. I agree that we are the best team, most would, but baseball rarely allows the best team to win the WS.

Would have to be an independent team. A GM might murder him for putting their #1 draft pick left handed center fielder at short stop, and taking out the ace pitcher with a perfect game and 45 pitches after 5.

Agree though, would be the best

Shoulder fatigue is a common DL injury. Let's just say he has that. :dunno:
