Interesting that Morosi tweet didn't mention Finn.  Maybe he isn't in the trade

Who does he mention in the tweet? Manaea?

Cueto in Kauffman with our defense is going to be unfair

Has been doing his thing in Great American which gives up the 4th most HRs in the league and now comes to our giant grass

Finnegan is going to eat so much terrible chili. Thank you Brandon for Innings 10 and 11 in the Wild Card game.

I still feel the Royals don't necessarily need Cueto, but no denying he's immediately the best starter in the rotation and Cueto, Volquez, and last few starts Duffy is a formidable top 3.

If Finny is the biggest piece in the deal I'm happy with it. He's likely going to be a very good reliever, but doubtful to be anything more than an ok starter. As long as Mondesi isn't involved I'll probably like the deal.

the combination of how good we are, and how average the rest of the AL is, this is the best opportunity we'll have to go to the World Series again. ALL IN

Who is Mondesi and why does everyone love some guy I've never heard of?

He's a light hitting, good fielding shortstop who has outperformed his age class, and he happens to be the son of a pretty good Dodgers right fielder.

Why because I think the Royals can win without Cueto and I want them to keep winning for many years to come which doesn't happen if they sell off significant assets?

Cueto makes the Royals better and I'm happy to have him if the price is right.

twitter is saying the hold up is on the reds end. they are supposedly trying to get another club to offer something for cueto and drive up the price.

Sys, I know there will be times when you won't wanna see Cueto out there in the 7th or 8th.  But he has been pretty good in the latter part of his career.

Last 1.5 years, Cueto in 7th Inn or later ---- 64.0 Inn 16 ER (2.25 ERA) 38 Hits 16 BB.  Not quite as good this year, after being lights out last season

2012/2013, Cueto in 7th or later --- 33.1 Innings, 8 ER (2.16 ERA) 20 Hits.   Was hurt for 2/3 of 2013, so not as many innings pitched late in games.

Wade is still the best option in the 8th, no matter what Cueto has done. But there could be several games where we let him pitch at least the 7th if he is throwing well
