KU would probably be the only team that would trade QBs.  Maybe ISU as well.  Not a good sign.

ISU wouldn't after today at least

That was the worst QB performance I can remember as a K-State fan. I'm sure there have been worse, but none come readily to mind. I mean, 10/30 with no TDs and a pick? rough ridin' woof.

I mean, his performance at Stanford was arguably worse.

He's very good with time and space but absolutely terrible with any kind of pressure, passing or running.

Obviously every quarterback is like this to a certain extent, Ertz seems to be more on the extremes than most.

I am certainly not going to come in here and say he had a even okay game. It wasn't good, we scored 16 points and he, as the quarterback, has to shoulder that. It was his second state against a team with a pulse, hopefully he'll get better.

Now about that hopefully. If his coaches don't trust him to run a real offense then he needs to sit. I don't know if it's his reads or what we're checking into but every rough ridin' pass off of the blitz was a go route. He isn't hitting those because he isn't stepping into them, that's his fault, but why can't the coaches see that? He did a great job on intermediate routes, even on passing downs, why weren't they called more?

We have no offensive identity and that's the fault of the coaches. If they feel like he can't run an offense then he needs to be benched and we can just run Delton and Warmack on QB reads every play.

Or we could play Delton and let him run and throw since it would be pretty hard to be worse than 10/30 no TD's and a pick.  I mean our 5th string QB/4th string WR started a couple games last year and never had a stat line that bad.

And meanwhile, Kenny Hill has thrown for 440 and 5 TD's against OU.

I hate the Kenny Hill thing because if he were here, he may not even get to play. We haven't let a quarterback play like that since 2003.

I guess you could argue that, but quarterback's can win completing 1/2 their passes. It's difficult, but doable. Completing 1/3 of your passes precludes winning from being a realistic outcome.

Yeah I guess he didn't make any failed attempted interceptions with his knee on the ground in the end zone this game which in a way could be considered progress.

I'm sick and tired of Iowa QBs.  Does everyone from Iowa crap their pants under the least bit of pressure?

What I don't understand is how we constantly get ourselves in the same situation where we have trust issues with the QB. And it's been every single year with the exception of 2012 and 2014.

If the offense looks like dogshit every year we don't have a multi-year Senior starter, it's a problem with the offense.

We can pile on Jesse for a bad day, but this is every year that we don't have a senior under center.

Ertz might set records for the worst deep ball completion percentage in major college football history.  I mean he can't even get within 5 yards on a go route

Can we at least hit him in the knee with the bench? He needs to not be an option.

I've been on the fence about Ertz since the beginning, but from my view the guy is just a bundle of nerves. It's pretty obvious he gets rattled on the road against teams with a pulse which contributes to the overthrows and procedural penalties. Of course our coaching staff doesn't help because it seems like they call the game without any regard to what is actually happening.

If I'm right, the good news is Ertz can eventually settle in and start playing on the level of Waters or Klein (minus the durability). He also may never settle down, in which case it will basically be 2015 all over again. In either case, I don't see him ever getting benched for Delton because I'm sure he'll always perform better in practice.
