I hope we win tonight and its like a movie.

Tonight should be the point in the movie where Billy hits a HR off the best pitcher in the league. Like, the GM just told him this is it and he won't be back next season, and the hot shot young kid (hosmer) over hears the conversation and says "That's right old man, this is my team now", only to see the lineup card and see he's not on it.

"But skip, that fat guy has done nothing in a month!"
"Kid this lefty tonight is throwing heat, and I don't think you can catch up to him, I'm giving the old man one last chance. Now take a seat and quit hot dogging. You're my late inning defensive replacement!"

Fast forward to the game, Billy has struck out twice and is on deck. Hosmer gets his helmet on and starts to walk up the dugout steps to pinch hit. Billy turns around "not so fast kid, I have one good one left" Coach looks in his eyes, "Make us proud Billy." The hot shot kid pouts in at the end of the bench. First pitch SWING AND A MISS! 0-1, 2nd pitch, HE HITS IT DEEP, BACK, BACK, AND OHHHH MAN, ITS A FOUL BALL. 3rd pitch, the windup, and........ DEEP TO CENTER FIELD! KISS IT GOODBYE AND THE ROYALS HAVE THE LEAD! As Billy gets back to the dugout, 1 player is at the top of the steps to greet him. "Hey Billy, you're the man" the kid says. They laugh and embrace. "Thanks kid" (tosses Hosmer his glove) "Now go be my defensive 8th inning replacement and LFG!"

Cut to montage of the last 10 games of the season, Hosmer and Billy have a cool fist pump handshake thing, become best friends, team makes the World Series. After game 6, Billy dies in a car wreck, everyone is really sad. In game 7, Hosmer comes up with Gore on second (there's a subplot about Gore, something about the Tigers trying to beat him up because he's small but the it brings the team together and there's a brawl and stuff) in the 9th down 2. 0-2 count, and before the pitch, it flashes back to spring training, and Billy telling Hos "Jansen always throws a change 0-2, if you wait on it, you can put it in the fountains." Flash forward back to the game, boom. Walk off Homerun!  Before he steps on homeplate, he looks up to heaven, reaches down and draws a "16" in the dirt. Steps on home, and its over. Everyone is crying and celebrating and roll credits.

Nice zinger, Ned. Maybe you should tell the team to work on that.

He may have just figured it out and hasn't had time to tell them yet. Things can take awhile with Ned.

The Royals really need to consider keeping Aoki in town.

Sally is the nicest player in the game. Bill romanowski would hate his guts.

Like SD said in the thread earlier, Yost will find a way to lose this game.

4-3 Tigers after 4 innings, David Price is already at 89 pitches. Hopefully the Twins crush the Tigers' bullpen.  :crossfingers:
