Played two seasons at Garden City CC, including the 2013 campaign ... Totaled 48 tackles with one pass deflection as a freshman in 2011 2012.

Allen, Johnson, Riddle, and Derricott all have redshirts available (I think). Clink and Mack do not. I would think that Derricott is the most likely to play out of the redshirt group, probably followed by Allen. We have decent depth at guard, so I would imagine that Johnson wears a shirt this year. Same thing at linebacker, but Derricott may be too talented to keep off the field. Mack obviously won't redshirt, but I honestly haven't heard Bill mention his name yet, so I doubt he plays on defense unless Burns shows zero improvement. Coleman hasn't lived up to the offseason reports, so I would imagine Clink will start taking some of his snaps pretty soon. Outstanding news about TLBL, we need him at full strength if we're going to win double digit games this year.

He for sure does. His senior year (2011) he helped lead Hermitage HS to the Virginia state semifinals, and then played at GCCC 2012-2013.

Some guy on GPC said that Derricott was supposed to play against Auburn, so we should see him soon. Allen and Riddle and redshirting, and Clink needs to get down to 315 before he sees the field. Take that fwiw.

With the exception of UTEP, I'm not sure what other team we play that would suggest a 4-3 would be better suited to defending the offenses we will be facing than a 4-2-5.

I'm not talking about using the 4-3 as our base defense, just thinking there would be situations where having Derricott as your 3rd linebacker would make you feel a little more comfortable with that alignment.

Riddle should have one.  If what I found online was right, he signed with Bethune Cookman in 2012.  I guess he ended up at Victor Valley and then Scottsdale.  So, I assume he can redshirt since he was a part of the 2012 class.

Derricott should have one since I believe he played at Hermitage in 2011, so that would have made him a part of the 2012 class.

Clinkscales was a part of the class of 2011.  He played at Grand Rapids in 2011, that program folded, and he found his way to DCCC last year.  I assume that 2012 will be considered the redshirt year, but maybe there is a chance at a waiver due to the fact that the program folded?

A.J. Allen apparently played in some all-star game when he was in High School, and it looks like it was after the 2011 season.  So, he should have one available, too.

So, as I said before in a different thread (and got blasted for it), I fully believe all of these guys will redshirt if they have one available.  If Clinkscales doesn't, I'm guessing he will play later in the year in spot duty.

One reason I hate going the juco route.  If any of these guys play yet......yippie, we get them for 1.5 years, with the .5 being a learning curve, so in essence, we get them for 1 whole year....(see Dakory Johnson).
