Funny story: On the radio they were throwing around the name of former Mizzou player Kim Anderson as a candidate that should be considered for the Mizzou job, and for a minute I was thinking "Kim English" and I was like "Wow, and they gave us crap about Gottlieb." But, turns out that they are not at all the same guy at all.

In my line of work, ppl jump ship to another institution when not doing well and they get a raise for experience from the next school. I think this is a similar sitch.

i know manning was a "new" coach and all and i have no idea what resources tulsa has, but haith was making in the neighborhood of $1M more at mizzou than manning was at tulsa

I guess a few mill in the future is better than none after the next year.

I think he's pretty self aware at this point.

Rumor is Haith is getting in the 1.5 range. Also, they offered Manning 1.7 to stay.

i was seeing that tulsa was offering to bump manning up to 1.0-1.2 to stay (have to speculate on what he makes now) and that haith's mizzou contract was in the 1.6-1.7 range?

also, "troubles" or not haith has a 0.614 as an HC at high majors and i don't imagine he would have had a ton of trouble finding a tulsa-level job after one more year at mizzou

Just saying what they were saying on Tulsa radio. The guys talking about it were a mid-90s TU grad that's covered TU for 20 years and another guy who has written for the Tulsa World since the 70s. Both are pretty well connected.

i think haith had a guaranteed of 1.7 so tulsa's (private) pay is the real variable here

Maybe Mizzou is just that rough ridin' miserable. Also, maybe his morals go as high ad the Miami fl job and all the corruption they've had lately steered him away.
