i need my podcasts to be a minimum of 29 minutes long, no less.  planet money is good for a drive into work and crap but come the eff on you jackasses give me some more minutes or shut your pie holes

The last couple have been really good.  The hacker one was pretty interesting.
yes very good one- listened to it twice

Tim Ferriss puts out 70+ minute podcasts once a week that IMO are fantastic content

the latest Common Sense and Waking Up podcasts are a discussion between sam harris and dan carlin. it's the best stuff i've heard on islam and the middle east and foreign policy, these guys are incredible, like, i'm positive that they're more talented than the people actually making decisions.

Listened to a few episodes of the race wars podcast today and enjoyed it immensely. It's Kurt Metzger and Sherrod small (chris rock's cousin) doing comedic commentary on contemporary race issues. The Jul 30th episode had me in tears at work when talking about bill Cosby.

I enjoy Pete Holmes' You Made it Weird. He talks with mostly comedians and spends part of every show talking about spirituality and philosophy and religion. I don't even care much about those topics but I enjoy his conversations and his laugh.

For the single lads out there, simple pickup (from youtube) has a podcast, and it's wonderful. Raw and hilarious.

Driving home from the Boundary Waters in Minnesota I listened to nearly the whole thing. Very good.

Just recently came across a podcast by Jocko Wilink.  He is a pretty unique guy.  A little over the top and it has taken him a few episodes to find his voice and flow, but I really enjoy it.

He is a 20 yr vet of the Seals and currently a leadership consultant.  Very interesting guy.  He is super into working out and other self discipline type things.

His stuff is a combo of war stuff that he derives leadership and or discipline stuff from, as well as discussions about workouts, diet, jujitsu, etc.  He even has one about Henry Rollins Band.

I recommend it.

CNS do you listen to the Meateater?

Also did you derive anything useful from that one I posted on grass fed beef steak?

I haven't.  I like to fish more to get the kids out and enjoy the peace and quiet you can only find at a lake or ocean, more than actually getting into the weeds about equipment and success rates.  As for hunting, I don't go much anymore.  Used to all the time as a kid and through college.  Fell off when I had kids due to time and prioritization of other things.  After which, I found I don't really miss it that much.

I do intend to go listen to the one you posted about the steak.  I plan to.  Cooking is probably my fav hobby these days and I try to listen to all the worthwhile podcasts I can on food, supply, cooking, etc.  Really interested in it all.  I will dig it out and give it a go.

Some.  That is how I got turned on to Jocko Wilink.  He was on last Dec.

So much of Rogan is stuff that is outside my sphere and I have a hard time caring about.

Martyrmade is a wonderfully informative podcast on the Palestine/Israel sitch. I think anyone who listens to it is authorized to have an opinion on the subject, and anyone who hasn't listened or studied the region at the graduate level should not be taken seriously. That's a bold statement to make about a 20-hour long podcast but it is that good.

Seconded.  I started it last week after hearing about it on the Jocko Podcast.  It is pretty great if you like Dan Carlin'esque detail on that area.  I am 3 epi's in and really enjoying it.

I honestly had no idea how recent the situation was started.  I thought it was a very old conflict.  Crazy how politically deceitful Brits and Zionists were.  You could definitely say that Brittan is quasi responsible for the unsettled middle east, when it comes to Israel.

thanks for the tip. i'll check it out. i went to Israel in 2011, but much of what I focused on there were things that happened in biblical times. I have a base level of understanding of the current conflicts, but it is very incomplete. One of the most surreal points of our trip was when we visited Jericho, which is a Palestinean town. We had to get a permit to visit, based on a guy knowing a resident in town. When we got there, our tour guide who had been leading groups in the area for 25 years said he had never been to Jericho. "Jews don't travel here. It could be dangerous"
