Kinda seems like Applecare+ is like betting against yourself and hoping you win.

Yes. But when it comes to cell phones, I def self-insure. I understand the calculus changes when you have a brood, because while you can control not throwing phones into lakes, you can't control what your loved ones do in/around lakes.

YES 7!!

I too am a no case no insurance YOLO'r and in the damn near 20 years of owning a smartphone I have not once needed to replace my phone due to "accidental damage".

I figure I am way ahead of the game by this point.  Insurance and cases are for suckers who just like giving their money away IMO.

I bought the latest iPhone a couple of years ago. Always used a small case for protection prior. This new iPhone was 137 million times stronger than my previous one or whatever the ad said so I didn't case it. Had it 2 days and sat in one of those beach chairs that are like a foot off the ground at a driveway party. The phone slowly slid out of my pocket after I sat and hit the ground from about a foot up. Shattered the entire back. $7 amazon case and its all fixed.

This, also have to have a popsocket because my thumbs and pinky were really starting to hurt without it.

My only incident was on a two year old phone where some welding slag dropped in my pocket. Needed a new one anyway

Agree completely, but I can't stomach an apple ph.  Also, wish LG would start making phones again, as I have never had a problem with them for over 10 years.
Hot time in Kat town tonight.

Apple having poor build quality, making a case necessary, is one of the reasons I won't buy one.

I have never dropped my phone, I’ve thrown it, but never dropped it.

The cameras on these iPhone 15 pros are intense. Oddly miss some of the simpler features on the old SE tho
If there was a gif of nicname thwarting the attempted-flag-taker and then gesturing him to suck it, followed by motioning for all of Hilton Shelter to boo him louder, it'd be better than that auburn gif.

Yeah I need to upgrade, I’m getting tired of the shitty 14 Pro photos I’ve been taking lately.

Anyone in the KC have T-Mobile for cell service? I've been with ATT since like the first iPhone and the service is fine, but the price and dealing with them on the rare occasion I need to is a nightmare. I know its prob the same for the others, but I can also prob save a decent amount switching. Especially here in a year or two when I need to get the kids added. Pretty nervous about it though. ATT has worked pretty much everywhere I've travelled too. I assume at this point the coverage is similar for all of the biggies, right?

I think google-fi is on the t-mobile towers and it's better coverage in town than I had with Verizon

Google-fi customer service is non-existent though so if that's important to you do not use google-fi (just an f(y)i)

I'm an iphoner. Customer service isn't terribly important past the point of signing up so that isn't that big of a deal. Really just looking to save a few bucks if the coverage between the plans is similar. T-mobile plans past a couple of lines seem pretty cheap in comparison to ATT.
