We got a "silent runner" working in our lab.  He's not too bright. 

Anyway, Red October and Crimson Tide are my fav's.  Both are in that category where if you see either on TV you must watch till the end.

Fun movies but far from reality. Laughed my ass off when the entire crew of Alabama was on the pier in the dark and rain.

Interesting. By the time you started and stopped the reactor, I believe the burrito would be well done.

Something like that is now on converted ballistic subs. They use it to launch Seals.

What about drills?  Like I bet you hear "battle stations!" all the time and you roll your eyes and begrudgingly take part in the exercise, only the smirk when the jackass on the horn announces it was just a drill.

Drills every Mon, Wed, and Friday afternoon. Honestly, it broke up the boredom.

I left the Navy before we had females on subs. I do believe the are on Ohio class subs now.

Does the navy have some type of top secret mega submarine that is like a mile long and houses a bunch of mini-submarines to just go out and do work against the Arab navy if the time would ever come?

I never did. I was an E-5 by the time I was assigned sub duty. E-1 and E-2 dudes sometimes did but it wasn't every patrol. Typically only happened when we had guests and needed the extra bunk space.
