I think, if you are good enough, the stutter step and stop is the most effective because the keeper will almost inevitably flinch and lose momentum.

I couldn't believe the Costa Rican did this and then still kicked it right at him.

Are you good enough, KK?

Me neither. On the same topic, I played with a guy who would only take one step back during PK's. He could put the ball right upper 90 every time. He made it look pretty easy, not really sure why that isn't used more often?

I literally have taken a competitive PK maybe twice.  I scored both because the goalie was super crappy.  I put them both left and both were pretty slow.  One rolled on the ground, the other curled in the air but did not even grab any side netting.

Interesting, cause i've actually blocked like two IRL competitve PK's. I guessed left on both and "BLAMO!" they shot off the field. :comeatme:

upper 90 gives you pretty much the worst possible results if you aren't incredibly accurate with it in a high-stress situ, tho.  nobody wants to be the boner booting it high or wide with everything on the line

the nice thing about penalties during the game is that there is still a 10-15% chance of a rebound/goal.

I don't know about you guys, but Diego Marradonna can eff off. Never saw him play, but Messi is definitely better, so let's shut the eff up about this old rough rider.

messi is definitely better, but watching old tapes of Diego basically makes it look like he is the 23 year old camp counselor playing against a bunch of 12 year olds.

I like Argentina the team the most, but would like to see the ensuing chaos of brazil winning the cup in their own country.

ive personally gone 5/6 on PKs in my life. the first 4 were all chips that hit the crossbar and then bounced in (see headbutt guys kick). then my next one was against the chinese U16 national team and they had done their scouting so the goalie stopped it. we still won tho. final PK was against germany U18 national team. i took an 18 step drop, ran 16 steps full speed at the ball, stopped, then two step kicked it into the upper 99 left side. we won

idk what that is but yeah i scored a lot in PKs. the goal is super big (even bigger than on TV) and i pretty much never kicked it over.
