Close to Portland, OR. I think they are moving away because there are two grandkids on the way and they are done with shitted diapers.

I really have no expectation of grandparentedness but you're right sd early evidence is not promising. They're the types to start a college fund but for the most part stay away unless specifically invited.

Really my parents just did a good job of saving and it's time to retire to that house on the hill with a view. And an indoor pool. And an elevator in case one of them ends up wheelchair bound. You see they're planners.

I have a friend who just had his first kid. His mother-in-law flew into town the morning the kid was born and stayed in their apartment for the entire first month. She finally said goodbye, then immediately got bored and invited herself back. Flew in and stayed for another week.
