My seats are not upper deck for opening day.  They are about 15 rows back on the third base side

i see no reason to think we can't compete for the playoffs if we stay healthy. I really like how the 25 ended up, and I think we are a better squad than anyone in the AL Central besides Cleveland.

Yes. I think our Royals are a top 5 team in the AL, thus making the playoffs. I do think it will be tough to win the division unless Cleveland has some injuries.

I'd rank the AL teams...
1. Cleveland
2. Boston
3. (Tie) KC & Toronto
5. Texas
6. Baltimore

I agree with you. don't listen to WC08. On par w/ Toronto, if not slightly better.  :surprised:

They could be a little better than us, I wouldn't say way better.  Of course I gave a little homerism putting us tied for 3rd, but I stand by that I think we are a playoff team & Top 5 AL team.

The Jays offense looks to be worse IMO. They lost Encarnacion and M. Saunders (.815 OPS,24 HR, .338 OBP) and now have Morales and Carrera (.679 OPS) taking their spots.  I expect Stroman to be better this year, but I don't see Happ going 20-4 with a 3.18 ERA.

Royals are not ranked high in power rankings, projected win totals, or playoff odds....I'm shocked. We kind of like playing with that chip on our shoulder.

ESPN had 35 guys make playoff predictions. Times a team was projected in --
Cleveland 35
Boston 34
Houston 29
Texas 20
Seattle 19
Toronto 18
NYY 10
Detroit 5
KC 3
Baltimore 2

I like our starting rotation a little bit better than the 2014 one.  Shields, Ace, Vargas, Guts, & Duffy had 93% of our starts that year. 949 innings and a 3.40 ERA.   I'm not saying our ERA will be better, because the league Ave ERA for a starting pitcher has gone up each of the last 2 years.

However, I do feel we can be a ways better than the 2015 collection of Volkie, Ace, Duffy, Guts, CY, Cueto & Vargy...who started 92% of our games. They were at 4.19 in 896 innings.

IMO, starting pitching will be the biggest key.
Our bullpen will be good, but it's not gonna be elite like 14'-15'

15' We Ave 4.5 runs (MLB ave 4.2) and were 5th in runs in all MLB. Also 5th in AL
14' We were 4.0 (MLB 4.1), were 9th in AL. In 16' we were 4.2 (MLB 4.5), 12th in AL
We don't need to be top 5 in MLB, but we can't be below the MLB average and bottom half in the AL

I'm just saying sys better have a few of these holstered and ready to go

i haven't decided if i'm going to pay attention or not this year.  i'll probably check in when they start the season and see if there are any fast players left and decide then.

I would have said "Yes, very much so. He's a terrific coach."

AL teams with better rosters than my beloved royals:
Boston
Cleveland
Baltimore
Texas
Houston
Tampa
Toronto
Chicago-tie

Pitching staff is very meh, and the offense devoid of power, speed and guys who generally get on base.

who is worse, young or soria?  i have a feeling both of these guys will be giving royals fans nightmares this season.  because of their suckyness.

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.
