Vietnam? Bad. Civil Rights Act, Voting Rights Act, Title I, and Medicaid? Good.

Was Brown and Root’s (Halliburton’s) guy.   Basically got Halliburton to where they are today.

Won local elections with voter fraud.  Like Truman, rose to power on the back of voter fraud.  Vote early. Vote often.  Bring your friends and relatives (dead or alive).

Chew on it, and cuss em out.   He was an old schooligan.  Meaner than a freshly castrated dog.

I always got an "A" in history, but was bored when talking Presidents. I have a better brain now anyways. That brain just memorized stuff. Being book smart sucks.

He is pretty decent with domestic stuff, and pretty bad with foreign stuff, which then ended up hurting him domestically. I'm guessing Wacky is watching the Ken Burns doc, which I hear is supposed to be really good. Hearing his interview on Sam Harris's podcast made me very intrigued. Vietnam was such a mess of black hole and we entered it's event horizon well before Johnson was prez, but he was also pretty stubborn over getting out.

IMO he is such an interesting mirror to Nixon, who was able to (while not nicely, but there was no nice by then) get us out of 'nam, and his China policy was a pretty good deal overall, but man, that domestic front, I don't need to explain that.

Yeah, it was on PBS last night. I had an Uncle who pretty much lost his goddamn mind after returning from there. That Uncle passed away a few years back and I was super intrigued when I saw it was on. I always knew that war was super bad and how it was a waste, but now it's more clear why.

I wanna see if this doc talks about how some of the soldiers died by the animals who were in the jungle. My Uncle had some mumped up boa stories.

Johnson, aside from civil rights legislation, was a colossal flop.  His great War on poverty has not helped the poor and has.created a permanent need class.  These policies have destroyed families, a proud culture, and cities.

In terms of Halliburton, first huge, put on the map “bid” was Vietnam.  Close personal friends with B&R.

I would bet that BKR and Halliburton made exponentially more in no bid contracts over in DS and OIF.  Thanks to the Bushes
