I just flew delta and when I checked in they had a blind reverse auction thing where I could put the minimum credit I would accept to volunteer to be bumped, between 100 and 800 dollars.

they had a ticket but it was in the name of their older kid who ended up getting another ticket for an earlier flight. most airlines don't allow you to just transfer tickets to a different person. so they bought tickets with the understanding that they would lap the child but then thought that he could just take the seat of their oldest who ended up not flying. i'll side with the airline on this.

throw the car seat with the kid in it into the ocean. don't get me wrong, I don't wish the kid harm, but his parents should suffer that horrific ordeal so they'll learn how to properly manage the airline reservation system.
