I think we win the same number of games with only the OU game as a possible different outcome

This has been on my mind, too. Probably cost Lockett hundreds of thousands -- perhaps millions.

Pre-Oklahoma ... probably not.

Post-Oklahoma ... I think you could probably make an argument that he should have started a game or two.

Tyler probably doesn't even get drafted if it wasn't for Waters making him look so much better than he really was last year.  It has been evidenced already that he's going to be an NFL bust and those returns he pulled off in college just aren't going to happen in the NFL.

i am firmly of the belief he should have started last year.  those deep balls that were dropped in our first game would have been TD's all day long if lockett was that guy.  bazooka joes running ability is leaps and bounds above waters as well, that first down run he had because they basically couldnt tackle him

if he threw that same pass this year he overthrows the receiver by 5 yards, fortunate to have lockett's speed running that route.

50 yards in the air, not bad, I mean I could do better but that's not bad

Bazooka has at least as good of an arm, runs like a gazelle compared to waters, and doesn't seem prone to 3 and outs at all.  Also, two games in, he is approx 8 int's better than jake.

I don't even see how this is a discussion.

Also, think how improved overall team moral would have been having one fewer Iowan starting.

I'm dead serious. Who else in the country outruns that secondary? Have you seen what Lockett has already done in the NFL, he covered up so many flaws Jake had it's silly.

which is why 'zooka joe should have gotten the reps last year, would have given him more time to grow.  his ceiling is much higher than the guy that got cut by the jags and didn't play a snap with Seattle.

Joe would have waved his hand forward twice, yelled "go deeper" and then threw the ball so that Tyler would have caught a laser beam around the 20 yard line, no defenders within 10 yards for an even easier touchdown. Then TLBL would have had to go to the sideline and put his hands into an ice bucket to relieve the sting.

It's not hard to look like a gazelle when compared to a fainting goat.
