Amen, we need more people of faith in public service especially Christians with a level head and decent morals. Not like the dc sewer. Sam is a loyal friend, great daddy, and smarter than your average bear. Plus he is a Kansas conservative. I do not agree with all of his policies, but it is the role of the legislature to pass bills and a budget - so they can tweek things - the tweekies.

It's neat that he's required to satisfy the budget shortfall. He can't just print money and take on endless debt like the federal government. Bring on the CUTS!

Gov. Sam Brownback signed an executive order Tuesday rescinding a protection for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender state workers that was put into place by then-Gov. Kathleen Sebelius eight years ago.

Sebelius had signed an executive order in 2007 that said state workers could not be discriminated against, fired or harassed because of their gender identity or sexual orientation. In an executive order of his own, Brownback rescinded that and eight other policies that had been put into place by his Democratic predecessors, Sebelius and Gov. Mark Parkinson.

Brownback issued an additional executive order that affirmed that state employees could not be discriminated against because of their race, religion, gender, age or country of national origin but without the protection for lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender Kansans.

it's just state employees, CNS. but i'm pretty sure non-state employees are already unprotected in Kansas if i had to guess

Kansas gets a lot of federal grants. Executive orders say that any one receiving a federal grant cannot discriminate on the basis of sexual orientation. So if you want the fed mmoney, you cpmply with their rules. This is how federal leaders get states to do things.
