Cats beat the Pitt Panthers 5-4.
Observations from Kissimmee:
Cats really did not do much at the plate outside two home runs. The first being a 3 run shot by Steve Serratore to put the cats up 3-2 and later was a 2 run shot by Quinton Crandall to put the Cats up 5-4 in the top of the 9th. The Pitt Panther starting pitcher was a big lefty that did a good job, he had a perfect game going through 4 innings and only gave up the 3 run HR.
Pitching for the Cats was Justin Hesket, he battled through 5 innings and have up 7 hits and 2 runs, but made some big pitches to get himself out of jams. Colton Kalmus replaced him and walked two batters on 8 pitches before being yanked in favor of Hudson Treu. Treu gave up 2 runs in 2 innings (only responsible for one, Kalmus responsible for the other). Nick Jones pitched a strong 8th inning and picked up the win. Jordan Floyd, the senior left hander was put in for the save opportunity in the bottom of the 9th. He gave up a double and a walk but struck out the final two batters.
Our Cats really need to work on blocking the plate better, through 2 games, 3 runs have scored from 3rd on past balls.
