I had been to Grinder's about a million times but, up until last night, hadn't ventured beyond their phillies or 'za. Last night I decided to order their Cali BLT featuring incredible bacon, perfect tomato, lettuce, and some sort of chipotle aoli. The bread was a perfectly toasted wheatberry. This sandwich is the real deal, you guys. The tots, as always, were great...but the sandwich (and beers) stole the show. 6.5/7 would order again / recommend.

EDIT: I left out the "cali" part...the perfect amount of ripe 'cado.

Incredible bacon? Perfect tomato? Stupendous lettuce? Sign me up!

Corvino. Very good. Great atmosphere. 4 buck alpha pale ales! Don't take people here that want max food per dollar....They will come away disappointed. You get high quality food in small plate form. You will not walk away spending under 100 a couple without booze and prob still be hungry if you are a mass eater type
Belated, but looking to get "max food per dollar" might be the most Midwesterny thing in the world
:adios:

I try not to eat, but when I do, I prefer not to be served a disgusting sloppy mess of sysco unfrozen food.

There are many good restaurants in KC, the most of which have been open for decades. That said, KC is a rough ridin' ghost town for ethnic food.

Shocking for a Midwestern 2M population city.

I found a gift card for Red Lobster, that I had received in 2013.  I used it tonight.  It was still good.  However, I found that I prefer Buffalo Wild Wings' popcorn shrimp to Red Lobster popcorn shrimp.

BURGERMANIA Saturday am edition.

Town topic (the 2nd one on Baltimore)

Burger...double cheese with grilled onions and pickles...5.2/7 ...this is the TT not open 24 hours and feels like the B chef. Good flavor just little too cooked and almost burned the edges. I've had better here.

Tots ....4.9/7...good crispiness ..their fried items have a different flavor. This is pretty standard but I've never been able to place what the flavor is.

Prob the lowest ratings I'd ever give TT but also the soberest and least hung over I've ever been and ate there so that could be a factor.

Can you believe that RL is the nicest place to eat in Topeka?

I've only eaten there at 330am, patty melt is on point with a .2 bac. That burrito place on 87th street is also baller at 330am (when shitty).

There are essentially 5 types of restaurants in KC where you can get good food:
1. American/fine dining - steak houses (don't really have strong feelings on this, would be intetested what others thinl. Bristol, Schmicks, J. Alexanders for the prime rib. Never impressed with Hereford House, Fentons, Bentons, etc.)
2. BBQ - so much good
3. Italian - Casciones, Lydias, Carmens
4. Foodie Places - KC kind of struggles with these except burger joints (District? 71st and Wornall is good)
5. Dive Bar - peanut wings, etc
6. Ethnic Food - graveyard for KC

Pile on.
