"I really thought, 'We're going to go compete for every 5-star and 4-star player out there,'" Snyder said in a phone interview with ESPN.com. "Reality hit home rather quickly."

Academics is a stupid word.Academic schools are synonymous for being rich, powerful and exclusive, three things Kansas State is not. So when people throw the word "academics" around, that's really what they are referencing.

Film? It's always a good commit when you get a kid who will be 6'5 290 running a 4.8 in a few yrs. I was sold with the first play on the highlight video when he intercepted the pass just as it leaves the QB's hand and takes 30 yards for the score. A very athletic play for a player that size. His film isn't anything special but the size and ability are no-brainer in terms of whether to offer. You can never have enough big athletes.
Wait what? When did hatter come back?

Reportedly, one of the state's top 2018 prospects, Norton's Jace Ruder, has reopened his recruitment after being committed to Tulsa since December.I do not know how this impacts K-State, but the Wildcats have offered already. They actually extended that offer before he committed to Tulsa, so I'm not sure this de-commitment has as much to do with him wanting to look at someone like K-State as it does him wanting to look into some of his newer scholarships. Those would include a flurry of recent major offers from the likes of North Carolina, Florida State, and Georgia. The Wildcats appear fine at quarterback for the future given the maturation of Alex Delton and the clear talent of Skylar Thompson, but they're squarely looking to add one for the 2018 class given the offers they've already extended. Ruder would be a priority given his local connection.
