Cuz we're gonna cook their asses for Thanksgiving. Also, anybody got a link for this thing that doesn't include me paying Flohoops thirty bucks tonight?

So the basket cats are 1/32 from behind the arc in the first half of our games so far this year. Is that bad? I mean, we keep winning, but it seems bad. Should our freshmen bigs be shooting it more? They seem to have nice touch from the outside, and our guards aren't shooting worth a crap. What's the answer, dudes?

I mean, I can't sleep, I can't drink, I can't eat. I'd take a quick and painless death right now if it meant not feeling this way anymore.

Jerome Tang Coaches Kansas State Basketball / Deathbite "Deathbite"

Point guard of the future or not? Kid seems to have pretty good handles, doesn't really have bad turnovers, and there are nights where he can't miss. On the other hand, I can probably count on my digits the number of times he has gotten past his man and made something happen at the rim, he is just not a kid that can penetrate and make things happen. Seems like an undersized shooting guard (streaky one at that) who has been forced to play point...thoughts?

Jerome Tang Coaches Kansas State Basketball / Thanks a lot, oscar!

Today I checked in on this board for probably like the first time in a week. I used to check the bball boards several times a day, even during the summer. oscar is a giant eff, and he stole all my K-State basketball happiness from me. I will never forgive that stupid rat. Thanks a lot, oscar!

Take it for what it is worth but I was told this through someone connected to the basketball team.  Marcus Foster and Tre Harris told multiple teammates to throw the Big 12 tourney game because they wanted to go on spring break instead of the NIT.  Even told several players to come with them because they booked a place to stay several weeks before.  Coaches caught wind of it and after multiple issues(attitude, lack of effort, partying, etc..) throughout the season this was the icing on the cake and got rid of them immediately.

I know what you are thinking....it sounds absolutely insane and unbelievable (because I thought the same thing) but if it is true this how destructive Foster had become within the team.  He also had ZERO points for the second time ever.....second time being the game at @Oklahoma St which he was benched.

I think Fitz might know this as well and it is why in another thread when he asked how much of this was on Foster compared to Weber and he said 95-5 Foster.  It makes even more sense when you look at some of Fitz quotes... "I think K-State fans need to realize that a lot of things are oscar Weber's fault, but I truly believe Marcus Foster isn't one of them. This isn't the same young man K-State recruited and who played as a freshman." and "Honestly, this isn't about oscar or really basketball."

Essentially Flyertalk / Smoking cessation support thread

Stopped smoking a couple of weeks ago. I've never made it this far, and I'm afraid that it's making me cocky. Any potential pitfalls I should be worried about? I think I'm out of the woods, but would hate to start my victory lap prematurely.

Kansas State Football / Gus Malzahn's Luck Sack parade keeps on marching!!!
« on: September 18, 2014, 10:47:08 PM »
Our 90% field goal kicker misses all three tries at home, and the best receiver in the country has a perfect pass bounce off his chest in the end zone for a pick. How many virgins does Gus Malzahn sacrifice in an average day to keep the football gods appeased? Aren't there laws in the south? Is murder not a big deal down there? I guess history would probably answer my question.

Essentially Flyertalk / Alcoholic vs problem drinker
« on: May 18, 2014, 10:26:51 PM »
I don't drink very often, probably once every two weeks. But recently (past couple years) I don't seem to have the ability to stop drinking once I start. I pretty much drink till I black out if there's not someone else trying to actively curb my intake. So, alcoholic or problem drinker?

Pretty fun test. I have no idea what the validity of the results might be, but I'm going to assume they are a perfect representation of actual intelligence...since I did pretty well and it would totally hurt my feeling if it turns out I'm actually a dumbass

Will and Shane both quoted in this article as planning on transferring. Since the season ended the day we played KU in the Bram, I thought we'd crank up the offseason oscar vs. Frank discussion. Who you got, oscar's squad last year or Frank minus Will and Shane?

Jerome Tang Coaches Kansas State Basketball / B-Ball training staff?
« on: February 17, 2014, 11:43:58 PM »
Last year, JO played like a total boss after they started giving him shots to alleviate his back pain. This year, DJamer has been playing the best basketball of his career after he got shots in his knee to help his tendonitis. Is our staff too slow to give our players the medical help they need? I'm no doctor, but it seems like ailments similar to the aforementioned injuries would require something other than exercise/rest to remedy the situation, and our staff has been reluctant to administer such treatments. I could be way off base, just trying to gauge whether there is any legitimacy to my observation.

I mean, I don't even know what I'll do. Probably get real pak'd with all my emaw friends. Call all my emaw friends that weren't fortunate enough to be there. Text all my hobby sport friends and suggest some medications for their butthurt. Probably end the night with getting a Powercat brand on my chest, and then passing out from the pain. It's fun to daydream about good things for good people.

Essentially Flyertalk / Chest Hair
« on: January 14, 2014, 02:18:36 PM »
So, I wiki'd chest hair today to try and find out why I have 25 hairs on one side of my chest and no chest hairs on the other side. Wikipedia wasn't very helpful, but I did find out that there are four major patterns for chest hair in males. Which one are you? Does your wife think it's gross? Do you keep some buttons unbuttoned to let it flow? Are people with no chest hair embarrassed, or do you consider it one less thing to hassle with? Let's have a conversation, guys.

The favorite player thread got me thinking, but I didn't want to post a thread about our least favorite player on the team. I mean, they're all Wildcats (except for Waters, he is obviously a Cyclone). I'm going to go with Cornelius Lucas. That dude was supposed to be a pretty decent NFL draft pick after this year and all he has done so far is: get beaten like a rag doll of the edge, have a ton of penalties, and then scream at everybody else on the team after the penalties like they somehow weren't his fault (that last part may be conjecture, but it sure looks like that's what's happening). I really thought he was going to be paving the way for Hubey and Sams en route to the endzone all year long. I was totally wrong.

Kansas State Football / Look at the roster and exhale
« on: October 07, 2013, 09:03:06 PM »
Guys, there's no excuse for coming off a Big XII championship and putting this product on the field, but this isn't the start of a downward slide into Bill's retirement. For the first time since I can remember we actually have pretty decent HS recruits all along our roster. Unfortunately they are all young. That's what happens when a coach who has spent his entire career performing a JUCO magic act every year starts to prepare for retirement. He's trying to even out the roster with high school kids, so that the next coach isn't hamstrung with unbalanced classes. I see good/decent high school talent at every position on the roster, and the majority of those kids will still be here when Bill hangs it up. This year will be rough, but next year I think you'll see the nucleus start to form out on the field for what Bill is going to leave his successor. I think we will all be pleasantly surprised. Just try to make it through this year, guys. It's going to get better.

Kansas State Football / Should we be rooting to lose at this point?
« on: September 24, 2013, 12:23:54 AM »
Is LHC Bill Snyder so stubborn that we need the season to go in the shitter before he starts playing the more talented underclassmen? Does Waters have to have a 0 TD 5 INT performance before Bill makes a change? This season isn't going to produce anything meaningful at this point other than developing our roster for next year. Whatever needs to transpire for that to happen, I would be totally cool with, including losing games.

Kansas State Football / Bill is one calculated son of a bitch
« on: August 21, 2013, 01:38:25 PM »
To the uneducated individual, it may seem that Bill is growing soft in his old age. To the untrained eye it may look like he has turned into a media-loving teddy bear. We have seen a large increase in the amount of jokes in press conferences, and he generally seems to be much less abrasive toward reporters than he has in the past. It's all just a calculated move to get them to leave his program the hell alone. He has charmed the media into thinking that he's giving them more, when in reality he's giving them way less. One press conference, three days into practice, and that's it until game week. Injuries and player status' has been locked down tighter than Hermione's snatch. I have yet to hear a verifiable rumor about player performance during camp, and even Stan Weber has stopped giving any tidbits about what he's hearing/seeing at practice. Teddy bear or ruthless-darkwizard-coachingmachine? I'm taking the latter, what a crafty son of a bitch.

No, not really, but for a couple extra bucks they volunteered six of their men's basketball games and a bunch of other crap that nobody cares about for ESPN3's lineup. All the t-shirt fans are going to be pissed when they turn on the tube and realize that the Hawks aren't on, and since they're poors then they won't even have an internet connection to turn to...sucks to suck.
