The New Joe Montgomery Birther Pit / Re: MAGA

Has this kid stood up and professed his beliefs and statements in Boscoe Plaza? Would love to see him handle the in person criticism next to the "anti-gay, electrical plug guy".

The problem is there's no threat against anyone, and K-State is a public university receiving Federal funding.

You can't just kick the guy out for a tweet.   I know that's going to enrage most of you, but the school is going to have to dig deep to find a legally defensible reason for kicking the kid out.   Don't say who cares.   Part of the job of an administrator is minimizing risk, and you don't expose yourself to litigation that you could easily lose just because some kid posts a bullshit tweet.

I agree on this when it comes to public university and 1st amendments, etc., what have you. I did notice some football players (Youngblood and others) indicating they may not play until the university does something. Does that light a fire to find a reason? Curious to see how this plays out.

I love them. Remind me, did we have white pants under Prince or just purple pants?

If memory serves, just the purple pants.

FWIW...my AMEX card has $10 back when spending $49+ on ESPN+...so check to see if you have that and could save you some for the year sub. Hopefully game gets pushed to actual TV.

Have you guys seen this YouTube series? They go through a pretty decent gamut of hot sauces. Pretty funny when they get comedians on there.

Have you tried Max's yet on Wornall? Small little dive diner with very good burgers and gyros.

Also, can't go wrong with Governor Stumpy's. Wish they were open on Sundays.

Best lunch option in the Plaza before heading to Doubleshift on Sat 8/20? Go!

Tomfoolerie's has 1/2 price burgers on Saturdays. Less fancy than G&D but a good, inexpensive option.

I don't think she should be sent to Omaha just yet, but I do think his cockiness far exceeds his performance as of late and when the Royals are on a (now) 6 game losing streak, not something that is needed.

288. Still light on the On Demand content and no ability to log onto AMC app yet, but only day 1.

Google Fiber just got AMC as of today!!! :Woot: :Woot:

Back to your regular scheduled business.

can you get it in purple?

I would have to paint it.  Ducati only makes red, white, or yellow bikes.

I wish I could afford an upgrade right now. Picking up my '98 Monster 750 from the shop today. Hopefully it makes it through the season and I can get a good deal this winter on a bike with at least fuel injectors.

I know this event will be the hot ticket in town Saturday. That being said, I have my 2 tickets up for grabs, free to whoever wants them.

If you are considering buying a motorcycle and don't have any experience riding them you should consider taking a class. After the class, you don't have to take the motorcycle license test, you just take the paper from the class to the Driver's License office and they give you (for a fee) a license with 'M' class on it.

For you KC folk, I took this class at JCCC back in 2011 and it was excellent. Friday night and all day Saturday and they provide bikes and gear if you don't own it. Instructor was top-notch and knew his stuff!

Essentially Flyertalk / Re: buying a house
« on: March 08, 2016, 12:34:15 PM »
on saturday at approximately 11 AM we offered on a house that had been listed the previous day (Friday) at 5 PM. the house already had 2+ other offers. we offered $10k over the asking price. at 2 PM we were informed we did not get it because 2 other offers were higher than ours. the house was on the market for a total of 21 hours.

this is like the worst time in the history of time to try to buy a house.  :frown:

It so is. I've had the same experience way way too many times over the last 9 months I've been looking. House goes on market, we look the next day, agent finds out an offer was accepted when trying to pull up the seller's disclosure so I can make an offer...it is INSANE. I finally got lucky and was able to get my offered accepted on a house in Waldo back in January. I was the 2nd offer and the house hadn't been on the market for more than 24 hours. My super awesome agent helped out tremendously with her patience and knowledge. Moving in later this month.

It is not a buyer's market at all. Best of luck and I'll be on the lookout for any in Waldo if that is where you are looking to move to.

Wings Cafe in Westport/Northland has the best wings in the city hands down IMO. Awesome selection of sauces (wet and dry) and the wings are huge. Firecracker and Slap-Yo-Mama are my favs. It's right there on Broadway in Westport so not too far from Sprint/Downtown. Would love to hear some reviews from you wing connoisseurs as it's my go-to place in the city.

Chorizo nachos at the belfry last night for hh. Pretty great

Their burger is phenomenal! I hate that I don't go there more often considering I live a block away (for now).

Everyone - I'm a little disappointed with Star Wars Battlefront. The gameplay itself is incredz but, like, there isn't a story to the game. All just separate missions.

I don't have the PS Network online pass thingy so the game is kinda pointless. Am I stupid?  :frown:

Worth buying PlayStation Plus for.

I hate how EA took out voice chat for the game. Its 20-40 people running around trying to guess how to organize to win. Hopefully they add it in a future patch as it would make it a heck of a lot more fun. That being said, it is still a pretty fun game!

Head a bit east of 71 to LC's. Woodyard is at I-35/Lamar and is also decent BBQ. I'm also a huge fan of Rosedale BBQ on Southwest Blvd. Rosedale is where Anthony Bourdain was chowing down with The Black Keys in the KC episode. Very good for the price.

I just watched Mad Max: Fury Road this weekend and the music/score for that movie was epic. I mean, a bunch of dudes on drums on the back of a machine with a dude tied to the front ripping a guitar that spits fire? I think the score made the action all that better.

gmafb with the ventura's problems are mental crap.  whether you think he's some injury-faking head case, or think that he can't pitch unless he's allowed to yell at the opposing players.

when he sucks, he sucks because the ball doesn't go where he wants it to, just like every other pitcher in the world that sometimes sucks.

Baseball is 80% mental and 40% physical.
