I don't like it that the Chiefs drafted him, but at the same time there's a lot of other despicable people playing and working in the NFL. If the kid truly regrets doing it and is trying to better himself I don't have a problem with him getting a second chance, I just wish it wasn't with the team I cheer for.

kind of where i'm at. i don't want him on my favorite team, i was pissed when i saw they had drafted him.

BUT, i'm not sure about saying he can't play football ever again. it's possible he has totally turned his life around and addressed his mumped up mentality.

a "2nd chance" doesn't have to equate to being given the opportunity to make millions of dollars and be famous.  the nfl would be just fine without these types of downgrades playing in it.  fans wouldn't be robbed of the opportunity to watch the game being played at its highest levels.

It's up to the employer to decide, and people are saying that the NFL should decide differently. Of course, most of these people will just keep watching every Sunday, so the NFL is probably right and they are probably wrong.

a reformed criminal can pursue any profession that they choose to.  the nfl can also decline a reformed criminal the opportunity to work there. if i owned a company that this felon applied for a job at, he'd be politely shown the door.

companies do background checks on their applicants all of the time.
