As much as I hate to put this out in the universe, I was thinking last night that this year would be a really bad year to have to put up with a potential "Self is leaving" situation. Basically entire starting five is gone. Beloved player is gone. Tyler no longer on the team. Mediocre recruiting class coming in. And all the bullsh!t controversies being stirred by the local media. This is probably as few emotional ties as Self will ever have to the job. He's still got the conference streak and his affinities for the university. But, I'd be more worried about the OSU job attracting him than I ever have been before.

Currie leaving is the first domino... Weber falls... Underwood comes home... the door opens for Massa Self to head home?

Up until '88 we had a virtually identical, if not better, basketball history than lil bro save for one legitimate national title. Then, we lose to the squawks in the Elite 8, they win it all and go on to greatness over the next 30-ish years while we basically tank for the better part of the last quarter century.

Now, we are stuck with #oscar while no less than FOUR former head or assistant K-State coaches (Huggins/WVU, Altman/Oregon, Martin/USCe, & Jankovich/SMU) have top 25 teams headed to the tourney.  It would be five, but Kruger's team at OU all graduated last year.

Some sort of strange voodoo went on during that fateful night in March of 1988 and K-State hoops has never been the same.

1) Texas A&M
-- Can't even think of anything classy about these redneck hillbillies. Definitely all racists.
2) Texas Tech
-- They hated when aggy went to the SEC-SEC-SEC because now they're the trashiest ones left.
3) Baylor
-- They'd seem trashier, but the rapes and whatnot sort of cover it up.
4) TCU
-- Generally pretty decent folks and their head football coach is a K-State alum. Most are worth sharing a beer with.
5) Texas
-- Just a classy bunch, really.  What more can one say?

So, we were walking into the AT&T stadium & this fat, toothless pig aggy fan sees us in purple and starts running his mouth. Despite our best attempts to ignore him, he walks over & pushes little BP Jr. to the ground and spits his Kodiak on my buddy's wife.

Although I tried to politely defuse the tensions, he was too liquored up on Natty lite to understand a word I said and took a swing at me. At this point, I was left with no other choice than to knock the last three teeth out of his mouth. With one punch, I felled his fat ass and as he lay there bleeding, we had him and his cowardly friend arrested before walking on in and enjoying the game.

Here's some fun insidery info for you fools...

Had lunch on Thursday with the father of a starting flood aggy football player and, unprovoked, he mentions that "Rhoads hates your coach".  So, I'm like " ...  go on, please."  At which point, he sort of backtracks a bit and states that while Rhoads doesn't like  at all, he certainly "respects" him for what he's accomplished, but the tornado birds work all year with but two games on their minds...

Iowa and, you guessed it... the flagship - K-State.

Was recently introduced to their work on youtube and there is a ton of very thought provoking material on their youtube channel. They have about 75 total videos and I've only watched about a half dozen of them so far, but have gotten something valuable from each so far.

Anybody else follow or watch these guys' work?  I'm of the belief that neither science, nor religion has all the answers.  Thus, both must work in concert to help us gain the greatest understanding of the world around us.
