I would absolutely hate scheduling this game if either:

(a) I thought we would struggle to reach 6 wins this year, OR
(b) I thought we were legit contenders for a national title

As it were, I don't hate this game.  We're totally expected to lose (and the line will likely be around or greater than 10 points), and if we do, no big whoop because it doesn't affect the Dr. Pepper in the least.  But if we win -- welcome to exciting top 15 college football right out of the gate.

The oddsmakers know this is a more evenly matched game than the betting public.  With the way ESPN pimps the $EC, I think the the line will be 7.5-8 to open and all the $EC backers will take a bath.

It may end up closer to 10 by kick, but I doubt it opens there unless we crap the bed vs ISU.  Most people fail to realize that prior to the bowl games, we would have been a 1 pt fave at home vs Auburn and a 2 pt dog in a neutral location...
