I probably have to move to DFW next year. Dallas is such an ugly city...terrible traffic, concrete desert scenery, full of awful people. Ft Worth is nicer though, don't mind it as much. Have to go to Houston tomorrow and it will suck too I'm sure.

What makes Dallas known for being progressive and/or prestigious?

A few idiots who live there and pretend it is.

This is actually pretty accurate...

Dallas is rough ridin' the exact same thing as LA. If you think Dallas is interchangeable with Indy Milwaukee Columbus whatever, then you are just being an insufferable douchebag again

Lots of people confused about kc stuff in this thread. Others spot on.

"the northland is just like johnson county, except I got a way better deal on my house!"

Bought into this hype and will be moving to Johnson County within a year.

Housing options are attractive, though.  It's too bad the Northland is awful.

Dallas is LA minus the TV/movie industry and a neighboring ocean.  Otherwise, spot on.

We're tone deaf to it, rd.

I lived in Kansas City, MO for four years.

Also, Phoenix is the closest comparison to Dallas. LA has no peers.

ha ha, I try to block my memories of that shithole from my mind as much as possible. I will say that the biggest difference between Phoenix and Dallas is that some people actually vacation in Phoenix, whereas no one in their right mind would take a vacation to Dallas.
