You guys are overreaching on why Snyder is supposedly so bad in bowl games. Bowl games, for the most part, achieves their goal of matching two equal teams. All but two of our bowl losses, second Syracuse and Oregon, were one possession losses in what amounts to coin flip games.

i think it's because in a majority of the bowls recently we got out to a horrible start.

'10 - syracuse, good start but LOSS
'11 - arkansas, bad start and LOSS
'12 - oregon, bad start and LOSS
'13 - michigan, good start and WIN (hoke factor)
'14 - UCLA, bad start and LOSS

Yeah, it seems like a lot of bowl games i've watched in my life have included comebacks that come up short.

God, the Oregon Fiesta bowl start still haunts me. Saw like 5 Oregon fans get escorted out by the cops that game. One tried to fight a cop in front of the kstate student section... needless to say he got his butt kicked by like 4 cops.

2002 Holiday bowl!

That Terrell Sugs was such a menace. We also came back in '99. That Beasley drive

 that you think the goal of bowl games is to match two equal teams and not make the most amount of money as possible.

Also great point on the one possession losses mir.  I totally remember that 2012 cotton bowl where we lost to Arkansas by one possession (16-29)  if we'd only scored that elusive 14 point touchdown....and don't forget about that 2008 Texas bowl (10-37) oh man....so close just a coin toss away from winning that one.

continuing on... this is kind of selective history in that i'm not including anything before '01, but if you look at k-state's last 9 bowls, we started like crap in all but 2 of them. so it just kind of feels like we always come out unprepared.

'06 - rutgers, bad start and LOSS (not snyder, i know)
'03 - ohio state, bad start and LOSS
'02 - arizona state, bad start but WIN
'01 - syracuse, bad start and LOSS

You mean the 2008 Texas bowl that LHCBS watched from his Lay-Z-Boy in Manhattan?

We got our asses kicked by Arkansas both times.  The real problem in both of those games was that Arkansas was a better team than us.

Someone should go back and see how we have done against the spread in bowl games over Snyder's career.

I'm guessing that we are 2/3 points per game underperform, and that it jumps to 4/5 points per game if you only count bowl games from 2000 to the present.

I can only assume that the asterisk means the ACC doesn't have enough bowl eligible teams and we are the 5-7 team with the highest APR.
