Modern Europe never really had a chance to develop a lifestyle and economy predicated on cheap and readily available energy like we did. The dislocations caused by a sudden tripling of energy prices off the present baselines would be catastrophic.

Sure know I do!Probably won't be quite that bad. We'll just go from importing most of it to importing all of it. Obama just might succeed in outsourcing US agriculture. That said food prices will probably go up enough to take care of that obesity problem the witch is complaining about.
