I think the comparison of "The Resistance" to the Tea Party is wishful thinking at best. First, whereas the Tea Party had a more targeted message and objective - smaller government and lower taxes - the Resistance, like the social media tantrum it largely consists of, is all over the map.
Second, the Tea Party was generally effective (Christine O'Donnell aside) at replacing squishy Republicans in Congress with more conservative Republicans. The Resistance, by contrast, seems hell bent on a suicide mission to primary squishy liberals with even crazier liberals in states Trump won, thereby helping the GOP regain those seats.
It's really pretty amusing to watch liberals pin their hopes on finally finding "their Tea Party." They don't seem to understand that backlash to this insanity is what won Trump the WH.
