No, Trump shouldn't have said what he said.    But then again, no other President has had to deal with NK who actually now possess ballistic missile capabilities and reportedly as many as 60 nukes.

All the proceeding presidents stood on the porch and told NK to get off the lawn, one, of course, did threaten to turn them into rubble and then pretty much fast tracked them to where they are today.   Bolstering the regime with food etc. etc.  (which they then gave to the military).
