I know they don't but they should. You don't see anybody from the other division often enough to have build any sort of rivalry. Its like picking two random non-cons to count towards picking a division champ. Someone get Bama in the SEC and someone else gets Arkansas.

As much as I love round robin play, I would be okay with the Big 12 going 14 but not counting the cross divisional games in the standings.

I'll say it again just for [you], so we can all agree. We need UCF & USF for our conference. This would put us in the second largest recruiting state in the NCAA. We would have teams in SEC, ACC, AAC, BIG 10 and of course Big XII Texas. At that point in time we could publicize that we are truly the BIG XII. This will not only improve recruiting, but help with our network contract in a few years. Also would mostly guarantee our future, with a twelve team conference that may end up with the largest TV following in the country.

if anyone is worried about the Florida teams, I do believe they are both serious about their football programs. Look at the investment they both have made in their programs. They both have quality coaches, and have had very good coaches. They are doing this with a network contract that is about a tenth of what the Big XII deliverers.

With the Florida schools in the Big XII, we could match them against Florida, Florida State, and/or Miami.
We already have an agreement with the SEC for matches, so we do the same with the ACC to give WVU, USF, and UCF matches. All I see is excitement with this addition to the Big XII. Right now we are too regional and boring. Makes schools like OU and UT want to wander over to the other conferences just for the new challenges. Let's not give these power houses reason to brake up our conference. We need a BIG XII!

This season UCF could have kicked Florida and Florida State's ass. USF would have gave them a run for their money, if not an outright win. Miami would be a toss up.

I can get down with this. Some east-west divisions? Or Legends and Hangers On divisions? But seriously, UCF and USF, of the non P5 schools out there, might be the best overall bet to make. Better than Cincinnati or Memphis for sure.

If we're looking to boost the profile of G5 teams why aren't we talking about Colorado State and Cincy? Seems like they'd be more likely to actually deliver their media market too.

Hey OU... you know how your fans are complaining about how you never get any big name teams in Norman like you used to with Nubby and A&M? Have I got some news for you! We are adding UCF and USF to the league so you get to look forward to those practically blue blooded programs coming to town on a semi-regular basis!! Yay!

The best way to kill the Big 12 would be to add small regional programs, with little history and no fans, that have practically nothing in common with any of our current schools. I mean, what are the things in common between OU and UCF? They both play football... other than that...?

Both schools are larger than OU. USF has about the same enrollment as Texas. If you combined OU, Okie State, and Wichita State, you come close to UCF enrollment. That's a lot of alums, and possible fans of our conference.

The University of Phoenix has an even bigger enrollment. Pick up them plus Northern Arizona's 30,000 students.

UCF could be a legit program down the road. Almost certainly not worth investment at this point, but I would have taken them over TCU in a heartbeat.
