We get very little from Jevon's penetration, though.

we get a lot of turnovers and missed 2's

Airballed layups are pretty entertaining imo

You don't want Jevon or Nigel on the court if possible. That's why Westicles plays PG.

Most skilled team next year probably would be....

1) Brown
2) Foster
3) Westicles / Tre (Do you want ball handling or shooting )
4) Wade
5) Hurt

1. unknown incoming pg
2. brown
3. foster
4. dunno
5. dunno

Yep.  Wes, Tre, Foster, Nino, Gip.
I could get behind this lineup. C'mon, oscar, make it so. Edwards in for brief stints to give Wes a breather (who takes over Point? I say Nigel). Would like to see Hurt come in an spot up for more outside shots too.

If we really want Wes at the point, I'd mess w/: Wes, Foster, Edwards, Nino, Hurt as the starting 5. w/ Gip the first big off the bench, and tre the first guard.

Gip has seriously hurt this team at times, and his rebounding has absolutely killed us in games. I'd be alright with seeing what the Big Hurt can do with more minutes (pretty sure his per 40 stats are better across the board), cause it can't be much worse than what Big Gip has brought to the table.

I like Westicles at point in stretches. It's not like he does a lot well, but he's decent at assists and TOs.

he is?

Over the entire season no, but he's been decent/better in Big 12 play. Nearly 2:1 assist to turnovers.

I jevon could hit his layups and/or we had another non-marcus threat, Gip would probably be killing it.

your post about our ones not being skilled was good.  it's hard to come up with a skilled lineup for this year, because we don't have enough skilled players.  your ones should be your most skilled players and ours are horrible.  thinking about lineups for next year is more fun.

Jevon's TORate in conference games is 36.6%. His %Shots is 11.3

one thing that kind of scares me, is Hurt not getting more minutes the rest of this season, then DJamer getting Gip's minutes next year, and we never get to see what Hurt could do when given an opportunity. cause oscar.

putting Southwell at the 4 IMO made that 2013 team better than Frank would have had us. That along w/ signing Foster are easily oscar's two best coaching moves since he's been here.

Southwell at 4 happened to oscar, not by oscar.

eh, he had Diaz, JO, Nino, DJamer, and Gip. Frank would have had Upshaw instead of DJamer who would have taken some southie at the 4 minutes. I don't think Frank would have done it.

Shane was barely on oscar's team until nino was rolling around hurt again in front of a bunch of us in key arena.  Only then did shane became oscar's 4.

What started as a thread about Fitz's lawyer, has turned into quite the enthusiastic basketball x and o discussion.

honestly, he's not a scholarship-level player.

That's debatable.  Four of K-State's top six players are Frank recruits, and I'd argue that Southwell and Gipson are every bit as valuable to K-State as Marcus Foster.   oscar's first recruiting class is extremely solid, but is it better than potentially retaining Angel Rodriguez and signing Sindarius Thornwell?

6 best players:
1) Foster
2) Gip
3) Southwell
4) Westicles
5) Thomas
6) Sprad/Nino?

Also, Frank's best player - Angel - transferred.  that's gotta be worth something.
Jevon is the best recruit we have landed since Beasley.  Angel is the 2nd best recruit since Beasley, IMO.

Would take Jevon & Foster over Angel & Thornwell because of longterm value.
