I can only think of two field goals in crucial situations that he's been in.  Last week at Vandy and then last year at West Virginia.

Missed both    :dunno:

What are they then?  At West Virginia his freshman year is about the only other crucial spot I could think of.  And that wasn't a must have field goal.

What? If he missed it, we would have lost if WVU scored a touchdown and extra point. WVU was forced to kick a FG when they had the ball at the 8 yard line because they were down two scores with under a minute left.

He made another one against WVU in '15, we won by 1 point. He made three against Tech just last season, including two with less than 7 minutes left, we won by 6. His FG against UT last year was our last score, we won by 3.

Even if he did make the "crucial" field goal against Vandy, we still needed a touchdown that we never got.

I think our definitions of a crucial field goal are a bit different and that's ok.   I think a crucial field goal either gives a team the lead or ties the game in the 4th quarter because that's when the pressure is on.  For me a it's a field goal that you need.

The 15' West Virginia game he made his field goal in the 2nd quarter to make it 3-3.

The Tech game we already had a seven point lead when he made his those.

In the Texas game last year he made it in the third quarter when we already had a 14 point lead.  Far from a crucial situation.

For the record, I think McCrane is an excellent kicker.  I wish he'd get more chances in clutch spots to show us what we all know.

C'mon bucket that was a 60 yarder that doinked the crossbar.

Coaches cost us that FG.  With one timeout and six seconds.  In the helmet.  Under center, sneak it, get two or three, get down, timeout on one.

If he gets one yard it is three points.  Our coaches didn't know what to do and couldn't think in game.  So burned timeout and didn't give the team the best chance to be successful.

Dimel cost us three there and three on "not putting Delton in the best position" leading to his interception.  After 4 or 5 starts you can trust Delton, not in start #2.

Go Cats and get this W.
