My GSP Milo gets allergies during late spring/early summer where she just scratches the hell out of her chest and its all red/irritated but then it goes away after a month or so. No cones or allergy meds for her, just tough it out and stop scratching you silly dog.

Just did a teledoc appt. Sent them a few pics, had a 2 min conversation with the doc and they sent the steroids.

Not sure why they can't just send a drone to drop the steroids directly into my mouth but I guess I'll go to the pharmacy.

Glad you got it taken care of. I used to get poison ivy a lot when I was exploring random fishing spots and about once a year I'd just walk into the urgent care at Walgreens/CVS and say "I've got poison ivy and need some steroids" then BOOM, walk out with some Predisone.

It takes about 12-24hrs after you start taking it for the itching to stop and the rash to start clearing up but then you are golden.

I got a new US flag (not pictured) as the current one is fading badly.  Betsy Ross and the Whiskey Rebellion flag complete my July 4th display.  I've been debating getting a 34 star US flag, which was adopted when Kansas joined the union.  It began flying July 4th, 1861.

You definitely should and I'm jealous of your 3 flag setup.

I'm a huge flag nerd and probably have 10 in my garage (one is a PR flag I got at fatty fest along with a clemente signed picture).

My standard flag rotation is COKEHEAD EMAW Willie flag from September until we start doing bad at football, then maybe mix in a chiefs flag around December, switch back to the EMAW flag in February or March then once the wildcats are eliminated its the old Red White and Blue flying until next September.

They need to set up Venmo so fans can Venmo kids after a good play, as a way of cheering.

yes, instead of a powercat on their helmet put their venmo QR code!  you'll have to zoom in a bit, but should work

I believe Oklahoma State tried to do this last year and got shot down

Doesn't have to be on their jersey.  Could be on the jumbotron or even just a player website.
IIRC one of t Boone Aggies ideas was to distribute "Menu's" around town to bars/restaurants with the Venmo QR codes for different players. For example, if Dylan Edwards had a nice run you could look down at your NIL "menu" and Venmo him $10 or whatever.

I thought it was a good idea at the time but Now that I'm thinking about it more people would definitely abuse it and send a penny just to say mean things to that person. "Xyz venmo'd you 0.01, comment - You rough ridin' suck, hold on to the ball you **************************"

when I was in HS I got suspended for 3 days for having a pocket knife. we had SEVERAL fully outfitted gun racks in the HS parking lot. and I was packing .410 mad heat in my own sled unencumbered. was the wildest thing. I had to miss kicking Cimmaron's ass in hoops. so silly. anyway, not on my permenant record apparently because the KSU Wildcats still offered (for me to go there).
Tell me more about this pocket knife story. Did you pull it on a Mennonite in the bathroom? Did you bring it for show and tell? Was it just chilling in your backpack because you were doing farm crap over winter break and forgot about it?

5 layer dip
End thread. Just make a giant baking sheet sized 5 layer dip and call it a day.

Rural Kansas is rural Kansas. rough ridin' hellscape this time of year weather wise. Breathing in particulates not real fun.

The one upside of the extreme heat and 40mph winds was that the biting flies were in hiding, too windy for them I guess.

13
Ate a metric ton of fresh tart Cherry's from an ancient tree and brought a bunch back with me.

14
The wind was blowing 30-40mph constantly and the windmill was just spewing out some beautiful ogallalah well water for the cows.

Close up pic of some cows

Went out to the cat ranch this weekend and it was hot, windy and dusty. Long distance shot of some cows in the pasture.

Just an observation but I'm almost 40 years old and the U S of A has literally been bombing the middle east for my entire life. Iraq, Afghanistan (more central asia but works), Iraq, Libya, Syria, Yemen, Iran, etc (probably missing a couple).

Speaking of wheat I saw this article today which features my land Barron distant cousin (IIRC his great grandma and my great grandma were sisters of the person who homesteaded the original cat ranch) who is one day soon going to cash rent the cat ranch.

“It’s heritage, but there’s no profit," said Lon Frahm, the CEO of Frahm Farmland, a 40,000-acre operation in Colby, Kansas. Surrounding Thomas County is now dotted with wind farms. Farmers there once grew wheat exclusively, he said, but they have started to diversify due to more frequent drought and global competition depressing prices.
Frahm himself now mainly plants corn. He irrigates, fertilizes and harvests the grain using multimillion-dollar machines, then stores it in gleaming, 80-foot steel grain bins. His 7,000 acres of wheat sometimes produce just 5 percent of his farm's total output.
"There's certainly profit in corn," he said.

I'm pretty sure you would have to separate the different types of wheat upon harvest but maybe they are just going to feed it to cows so YOLO?

CSR going up to $800/year.

I've had the CSR for like 6 years and don't really travel all that much anymore so what card should I get to replace the CSR as my daily driver before it renews in december? I'm assuming I will get to keep my 120kish CSR points even if I cancel the card?

Side note I just canceled my SW card so I don't think I can switch to that.

Went to the lady's parents place south of warrensburg over the weekend and the mutts enjoyed the front porch with their own fan.

What's the story behind rhe bull sculpture?

Are all those chairs linked by a bike cable and padlock like Cracker Barrel?

The bull sculpture is a Remington replica or something. All I know is I helped move it there and it's heavy AF.

Saw some turkeys on their recently harvested Hayfield when we were driving back to KC on Sunday morning.

My dad is going Rambo against this raccoon according to the email I just got....

Quote
So, its like a chess game, but I keep losing.

Despite locking down feeders, minimizing garage door entry space, etc.

This medium sized racoon manages to lift the garage door about an inch to gain entry to eat cat food (and mess up cat feeders).

He has avoided live traps.

I may put a live trap inside the garage right where he enters kind of forcing him into it.

If that fails, it is going to be staying up late w/a shotgun.

The time I've invested in resolving this issue.

I have added about 5 new Santa Rosa plum trees North of the house.

You might be correct on that berry plant I thought was a vine.  We shall see.

Dad

Got an update at fathers day yesterday and it went something like this

Ben ji - So did you get that coon that was getting into the cat food in the garage?
dad - Yeah, finally. I put the trap on the other side of the garage door where it enters and put a bunch of bricks next to it so that was the only way in...First night I caught a cat but the next night I GOT HIM.
Ben ji - Good stuff, did you drive it somewhere to let it go or.....
dad - We don't have to worry about the troublesome raccoon anymore.....
