Ok, I get that OU lost and all, but...

Currently 5 BigXII teams are ranked top 25.  I know it's early in the season and I know the BigXII will eventually cannibalize itself, but 50% of our conference is better than roughly 80% of all college Division 1 football teams.

I'd say it's probably the 3rd strongest conference right now. Even Tech and WVU look pretty damn strong and should be close to being ranked. If we are able to get our crap together on offense we could move up too.

The way too early playoff talk IMO has Big 12 on the out. I'd put Big 10 winner (tOSU or Michigan), ACC winner (Clemson or FSU),  Bama, and Stanford in before Texas at this point. Or Houston for that matter.
