Does the theory of parallel universes apply to the space that we live in now, or is it a completely different space? If it is a different space, is there a way to get to it?

FAN, I'd be up for a game Monday or Tuesday afternoon after 3:00 or so.

This should work. I'll let you know.
I reserved tee time at 3 for three of us next Tuesday at Western Hills.  We have to start on the back nine but can play all 18.  We couldn't do eighteen at Berkshire so I opted for WH.
Great. Tuesday works better for me. Hopefully we can get some more interest and have a larger group.

Let's plan on Tuesday around 3. I'm good with Birkshire or Western.

Myrtle or where? Which courses?

Gonna win 'em all!

Greenville. No where near the beach. His club is called Cherokee Valley. In pretty good shape and not too busy. 16 is a big drop par three with a crazy view of the mountains.

A few of us had another good day on the golf course yesterday.  The weather tried to scare us away, but we stood in the downpour and waited it out. Thanks, fellow golfcats!

Had another great evening of golf with a buddy.  Weather was beautiful for the course today.

So I've been out on the links five times the last two weeks, each time with a different friend or group.  Each time is good, but the best is when other GolfCats are there.  I'm looking for another outing sometime with other gE-ers.

Dad and I tried out a new course in Leavenworth this weekend. My buddy sold me a set that was too long for him, which was good for me, because my set was way too short. I par'd the first and last hole, but pretty much played bogey gold in between. It was fun.

Wacky, that sounds about like my golf game, with a few double bogeys in there.  I'm getting better, but am not good.
I'm getting myself a new set of clubs for Christmas.  I have no idea what I'll be getting.  I'm hoping for some help choosing when the time gets close.

That can be fun golf, bud. I was pretty competitive in golf growing up and then I took a break from it. When I got back into it, I would get super frustrated, because I thought I'd be good again. I just strive to play golf that won't embarrass myself now and that I'm keeping up with the rest of the group. It's way more fun that way.  I feel like I stole this set from my friend. He gave me a full set for only $100.

I used to play a great deal.  Then gave it up totally.  This is my first summer back to really getting out there.
I have considered looking for a used set at a country club somewhere, but don't have those connections.  I won't spend a great deal, but I want a decent set.

Go to golf stores that allow you hit clubs, hit everything you can until someone makes you stop, whatever you fall in love with, go online and buy them for a hell of a lot less, like absurdly less if you want to get a year or more backs model.

Thanks for that advice.  I'll check here in Topeka and maybe Manattan and the KC area.  Not going to start the search until late fall.

Second the online purchase idea. I have older models of my favorite fairway woods. I've grabbed 3, 5, 7 & 9 Tight Lies over the years. Love hitting them. Might have paid $30 a club. Found a couple on eBay and a couple at Walmart. My latest driver was one model year old when I bought it. Think I paid $150 under retail. Bought my irons on a model year closeout at Dicks.

After you buy them, take them to a fitter. They can adjust the club lie for you. It makes a big difference. #clubliesmatter

Golf is fun.  I made an eagle on Monday. Also 2 double bogeys and 4 regular old bogeys.

Shawnee County Country Club recently joined Great Life.  Not a bad course at all imho. I played it a few weeks ago. However, it is in the hood of Topeka.  It is right across the street from The High Crest neighborhood.

In other news I'll be playing the old Abilene Country Club on Thursday.  Plan to get beat pretty badly by WW.
