Oh man. The "The Chiefs are only a WR away!" talking points are gonna come out.

:shakesfist: today was a good sign, imo

Well, anyone who says that does not follow the Chiefs even a little bit.  They are about 3 WR, 3 OL away.

Oh, and then there is this one guy named Alex Smith.............................................. :sdeek:
Awaiting the inevitable KITN

The Chiefs averaged 22 ppg which was right in the middle of the pack in the nfl with literally no receivers, a banged up Jamaal, and a fumbling Kniles Davis. Their Defense is good enough to make a run in the post season if we just get some play makers. Bash Alex all you want, but his offensive out put is similar to Russel Wilson in a way. The formula could work. Get some play makers in here and let's see what this team can do. I mean, they beat both super bowl teams last year.  :dunno:

Their offensive out put, guy! http://espn.go.com/nfl/statistics/team/_/stat/passing

You don't have to sling it around anymore to be a contender.

You can hate him all you want, i'm just saying we can still win with him. We're pretty much a B version of Seattle right now. Let's see what they do in the draft and free agency, before we spend another off season hur huring about how much Alex Smith sucks.

I want the Chiefs to draft TLBL because he would be good for Alex Smith.  Unfortunately, Alex would not be good for TLBL.

i'm somewhere in between you and cf3. like, i hate him, and don't think the chiefs will ever do anything significant with him, but i'm not in total shut down mode like cf3. :don'tcare:

Alex is not the savior, but he's not the reason for failure either. I've said it so many times in this thread I feel like I'm stuck on repeat, but there's only 1 QB in the league that the current regime had a shot at that I would be fine with starting over Alex and that's Teddy. And even with him there's been little proof that he would actually be an improvement, just glimpses and potential.

The Chiefs desperately needed to overhaul their WR corp and it appears they are doing so. None of they guys that had where matches will Alex's QBing style. They need guys who can make plays in space and big bodies who can consistently move the chains. Bowe could and should have been this type of player, but his effort and skill level have deteriorated so badly since he received his big contract that he's been a shell of his former self.

TLBL would work in the sense that he could be great at turning short routes into big gains, but I hope he can be more than that and he wouldn't on the Chiefs. I also think he'd probably end up being destroyed by safeties if he had to play that role constantly.

We're stuck with Alex Smith for at least the next 3 seasons :(
