The first year the Big 12 has a CCG, a two loss team will beat an undefeated team and the conference will end up having no teams in the playoff.

Why does everyone want our regular season conference champ to have another hurdle? Oklahoma sitting on their ass knowing they were already in the playoffs that last week seems like a pretty sweet deal for us.

I don't want a conference championship game, but it's mostly because of the added revenue the game would bring to the conference.

There is a difference between thinking it's dumber and it "seems" really dumb. At first glance it seems dumb because everyone has played everyone, so why play again? But yes, this can also happen if you have divisions, where two teams potentially have to play twice. I guess the difference is if you have divisions, you at least have a set up where potentially two teams that didn't play each other play in the CCG. In round robin scenario, you are guaranteed they are playing each other twice. That is why I said it "seems" dumb. Personally, I don't care either way, but it will be easy to bitch about for a lot of folks.

It's also a self-defeating issue. Last year the Big 12 was close to getting two teams into the playoff. If #1 and #2 play each other, barring some bizarre tiebreaker scenario, one of the two playoff chances the conference could have will be eliminated. There remains possibility you get two teams in the playoff in situations like SEC, where two powers are in same division. No divisions eliminates any chance of getting two teams in.

I'm actually perfectly fine with WVU. They're a terrible fit geographically and culturally, but they're fun and they're not losery from a national perspective.

If the rumored narrative is true, Fox has been in his ear about a network. So, if he's pro-network, and they're making several million with their arrangement, one of two things is true:

1) Fox is telling him a Big 12 Network is worth more than 7-8 million a year per school.
2) If it's not worth more money, he's willing to give some up for more national exposure and uniformity with the other conferences.

Either way, I'm glad he was direct in his comments. The last ones had a little ambiguity in them. Good to know where he stands.
