I guess this is fine. Rather have him in MLS though.

Mix seems like either he and/or his people, including his national team coach, would rather he play anywhere in the world before he plays in the MLS. We'll see him in an Egyptian league before we see him in America.

Got the impression he was excited to join the Crew before his dad pulled the plug. If in Mexico, Tijuana is my first choice. He'll play with American studs, Joe Corona, Greg Garza, etc. Also he apparently loves San Diego.

The 08 Gold Cup when Benny scored that goal against Mexico might be one of my favorite USMNT moments ever. Just an incredible goal and moment.  :ksu: :emawkid:

According to reports in Mexico, @mixdiskerud rejected a DP offer from @MLS to go to #LigaMX

Even if we were ever able to get over the hump and play in let's say a World Cup semifinal, we will never be able to capitalize on the momentum gaining casual fans because our senior mnt is being built the backs of guys with no interest playing domestically. International leagues will never catch on big because of time zones amongst things like xenophobia.

Give it time MIR. Mls is making strides every year. In 4 years it will be substantially better than it is today.

Didn't say we would be there in 4 but we have the hottest stock in world leagues. No other league is improving as fast or as much.

You don't think it will be able to attract dual nationals like Mix in four years? Pfft.

Maybe, I guess i have always been of the view that in order to compete on the world stage most of players need to play in Europe. I agree having players play in Mexico instead of MLS is disappointing, and hopefully in 4 years MLS is seen as  a better league than Mexico.

Yeah we know you think that. Thing is, these days, the only Americans (other than Kljestan who may not ever get another cap) currently in Europe who aren't failures are prospects  (Rubio Rubin, Bobby Wood, Will Packwood) or dual nationals (Fabian, Danny Williams, Brooks, Green, Johannsson).

A country of our size and resources cannot have a strong national program without a strong domestic league.
