Justin 'nough; S Carolina St ADV

I like effort, oboarding, and finishing at the rim; all things this team does well most of the time. However, hitting shots and handling the ball are nice too and today we did neither of those well. 6 guys with at least 2 turnovers with TOs on a quarter of our possessions against a bad team is not a good sign. Also, the high number of TOs, with many of them unforced, led to a lot of the issues that last year's team had. Hopefully this is not the norm as up to this point this team had been very good at not turning it over with only 1 other game at 20% or worse for TO%. Three point shooting is the next problem, but I'm not sure if it will be fixed much this year.

Oboarding was still good for 2/3 of the game and that's without DJamer. Subpar offensive games from Westicles, Stokes, and Brown didn't help much, fortunately Wade, Edwards, and Hurt gave us enough to get an ugly win.

Every once in awhile you see really aggressive play at both ends. Today, those were rare moments. We didn't really hang on to the ball when rebounding. Let them in on lots of tie ups and bungled play.
It appears that things sometimes get into Wes's head.  He's good when he's on, though.

I do too.  I was waiting for this last year, but he has finally come around.

Two steps forward, two steps back. Also this team will not accomplish a damn thing with Hopper as their leading scorer, he's far to inconsistent and inefficient.

Anyone surprised that this game was close probably hasn't ever watched cbb.  A bunch of first year players coming off thanksgiving and a close loss to UNC, Sunday game in an ice storm. Yeah, who could have seen that coming. . . .

One thing I noticed, the refs have abandoned whatever the "point of emphasis" was supposed to be. Slapping and bumping and shoving all over the place making cbb just unwatchable.

I am impressed with Hopper's non scoring skills, especially rebounding.   We would not be 5 and 1 without him.

Hot Horndogs played 15 solid minutes only picking up one personal foul.  We will need that kind of play from him going forward.

Apparently it's okay to treat that dude like he's a high school sophomore playing in the big 12 but not accurate to observe that he isn't a D1 basketball player.

True Story: I made a similar comment on BOTC (i.e. not a D1 player), and a member of his family set up an account called "You are a looser" and called me out for criticizing him.

He has no business playing for this team.  He's awful, and pretty much 99% of walk ons are awful, so I'm not sure why people feel so compelled to argue something as factual as the sky being blue.

I mean, it's not his fault, I'm sure he's trying his hardest.  He shouldn't have to be relied upon to play 10+ minutes a game -- that's on poor roster construction.

Is he top-5 nationally among walk-on power forwards? I say yes.

Hopefully when Williams is healthy he can contribute. Maurice likely not being eligible doesn't help either.
