Jerome Tang Coaches Kansas State Basketball / Re: Tylor Perry

Have you considered that perhaps he was just putting on a costume and doing an impression of a great shooter?

All I know is what I've been told.  Tang says he's the best shooter in the country.

Was this said in the madea?

You got enough problems in your own house.  No reason to come all the way over here and be racist.

You take her home, have a good time for a short while and then quickly realize why she's been single for 19 fricking years.

Still sucks. Dollar General version of Newell, at best.  Tang also sucks.  Is their a term for a shitty short term hire?

Tang has to learn to spread the love and leverage the length of his entire roster more.

My guy Bud Lee deserves minutes and I’ll be damned if I let him get overlooked.

Bud is not a man of paltry dimension.  How can Tang not recognize the impact that Bud would make if only he were to be given an opportunity?

I ask each of you out there on the web reading this to send Bud some positive thoughts and encouragement.  And Buddy, if you’re reading this, hold the line and maintain your course.

Watching the team only go 7 deep until the last 20 seconds or whatever against UCF was a bummer.  I'm so afraid Jones and Rich are gonna transfer if they continue to get so little PT.

Counterpoint: Tang is a good coach and I’m glad we have him.

Why is this team so bad at shooting?    Like historically bad.

lol, you're trolling, right?
.

Just an example.  Perry shot 41% from 3 at UNT.  He's shooting 34% this year. And thats against a soft noncon schedule. Lord knows what it will be once we are playing against the conference opponents.

I will just say that generally speaking I've been pleased with how Coach K has managed his staff in his tenure here, and by and large I'll trust him until proven otherwise.  In the event that I stop trusting him, I trust that the AD will seek my counsel.

"By and large" always rinds me of Snyder.

Is it possible to transfer him back to the AAC?  Dude isn't a P5 talent.

11
Yeah, I'm super bent out of shape as well.  It sucks to hear but KState mens basketball is a white hot garbage fire.

12
No wonder nobody hired Tang for 19 years.
He sucks.  This team sucks.  Are we gonna win a single conference game?!

Is going to be Connor Riley

Everything is just kind of a bummer lately.

Did we like the offense we were running or not?
I feel like a decent portion of the fan base has a bit of a fetish for thinking they're getting kicked in the nuts

I don't have any idea what type of offense he'll call.  The offenses he was around at NDSU were big time of possession type teams.  I guess it's possible he'll run a Klein type of offense...
I mean he's been at KSU just as long as he was at NDSU and he worked with both Messingham and Klein at KSU and saw how both Mess and Klein left so who do you think he would be most likely to emulate?

 :dunno:

Binding to what?

to the contract

You can't tie NIL to playing for a certain school
Missouri law seems to ignore that very thing

Missouri does a lot of weird crap.

Didn't we just discuss this? We currently have 13 commitments. Early signing day is next Wednesday.

True, but we've also had like 14 transfers.   The only news I'm seeing is people leaving and no news about anyone coming in.

24 hours in and I hope that Collin Klein eats crap at aTm. Then I hope his wife leaves him for a televangelist preacher

I don't see a timeline where he ends up the HC at KState.  If he struggles, he'll get fired in a year or two.  If he succeeds, he'll be up for other prime jobs before the other CK retires.  Guess, maybe, he fails and ends up back here as the OC for a bit  as the HCIW?

Rubley will probably end up at a G5 or a P4 backup again.

Took me a sec to figure out what you meant by P4.  A lot has happened recently.

Yeah, Rubley isn’t walking into either a P5 or G5 starting job

Didn't say the same thing about Howard several times during his first few years at KSU?
Well said katdaddy

Howard didn't exactly walk into his starting job.  I'd assume Rubley would want to go somewhere that is basically going to name him the starter for next season.

CK leaving is fine.  If he poaches Avery, we riot.

Yea if he takes players/coaches with him we riot.

Dude.  I can't handle that kind of thing these days.

I am still very sad he is leaving. Thought he was the better back than DJamer during the Iowa State game.

Maybe but under weird conditions.  Giddens has proven over the course of the year to be way more valuable.  Ward is a solid back but it doesn't make a ton of sense to keep Giddens off the field so he can get carries other than for some change of pace.

Is it just me, or is our 2024 recruiting surprisingly weak given our recent success?  What's the dealio, yo?

We had huge freshman classes in '22 and '23 with a ton of red shirts and not many transfers so the coaches planned on the '24 class being transfer heavy. Klieman set the stage for this all the way back to the press conference announcing the '23 class.

Following up on this, we signed a total of 40 high schoolers in '22 & '23 and only 7 of them have transferred. I noticed that we also signed 15 high schoolers in '22 and 25 in '23, so maybe they're going to sign big high school classes every other year?
.

Probably a solid plan, depending on the transfer numbers.
