I watched the first episode of Preacher and thought it was OK. Haven't seen the last 2 that have aired, has it got any better?

I had a similar experience with the pilot. Already started to go away from the comic.. My brother said it has gotten better, but I have not had time to watch the recent episodes.

Peaky Blinders

Tommy Shelby is the greatest badass. He's badder than Stringer Bell. He is badder than Stringer Bell.
Arthur is a crazy brother who isn't completely ruined by drugs, my god what a revolution in TV and cinema.
The women are actual people with actual concerns and intelligence. (Think of how Esme is treated in a different show)
John Shelby's development is awesome because he sucks early on but they don't put effort into him he just grows naturally.
TOM HARDY and his awesome real life wife(Mae Carlton)
rough ridin' Major Campbell and the rough ridin' priest. Those assholes weren't in France, they don't know.

What a fun, unpredictable mix of action and drama. It will be a long time before I start another series because I know that I can't possibly enjoy something as much as I did the Shelby family.

Ripper Street has me hooked. Started it a couple of months ago and just watched the first 3 episodes. Over the last week I have watched a dozen more and can't wait to watch the next!
