I've said it a few times in the past year; if we do, it will be Cincy and Memphis.

We aren't going to put up with BYU's crap.  You aren't negotiating with a school; you're working with the Church of Latter Day Saints.  That's going to go over like a fart in a church (pun intended) as time goes by.

UCF will be on an island because Cincy is the first play.  They're the travel partner WVU has been begging for.  Everyone else is just a round number.

At least with Memphis, they're geographically relevant, and the basketball in this conference will elevate tremendously.

My main draw with Memphis is that it's in a large city with no NFL team.  They play in the Liberty Bowl.  They have a big sugar daddy donor.  They just won the American conference.  Tennessee has been down for almost a decade now, so if you're going to make that play to try and get some ROI there, now is the time.

It's like, losing Colorado, Nebraska, and Missouri tremendously hurt the identity of the conference. And adding teams like Cincinnati and Memphis would just hurt it even more. Let's try not to go down that Conference USA hodge podge mish mash road if we can help it.

I really doubt that Bowlsby and the powers that be make a knee jerk reaction to add teams &/or try to get a champ game for the ten.

He/they, like most reasonably intelligent people, realize that the Baylor/TCU snub wasn't about SOS or having a CCG. It was a bout "brand name", history, and marketablility.  No more, no less.

Had it been OU or UT with the resumes they put together this year, one or both would be in playoff.

Stay at ten.  Going to 12 won't help/solve anything.  The criteria for selection will change every time to justify whatever is wanted.  That happened like 6 times just this year.  OOC shedule would have meant nothing for Miss State. Not having a conf champ game would have meant nothing for Notre Dame.

They are better than Michigan, Penn State, Indiana, Rutgers, and Illinois. I could see the merits of taking a second team from the SEC over TCU or Baylor, but this OSU team is just not very good.

Everyone is going to want access to Texas.  You can make that happen by creating scheduling "pods" with 2 Texas teams and one Oklahoma team.

Something like Oklahoma/TCU/Baylor and OSU/Texas/Tech.  You can also stack the North to do something similar to decrease distance.

KSU/ISU/WVU and KU/Memphis/Cincy (since we won't go west).

Every year, you'd get a Texas team at home, and you'd get a Texas team away.  We'd just use the old scheduling where you'd just rotate between the teams in the South and have a home/away with them every four years. 

Your 2/1 away would always be balanced by a 3/2 divisional schedule at home.  So, for every year you get three games at home in your division, you go 1 home/2 away in the South.

Honestly, it's not that bad.

I'd also, personally, like to see a scheduling arrangement where we supply BYU with six games every year to help boost the non-con.  But that's just me.
