What's sad is that after seeing Jake play for 2 years and maximizing his talent in the pass game with Lockett, the staff still run an unacceptable number of plays each game which highlight the weak points in his game -- QB Draws, speed options, etc.

I'm not a fan of him as our QB because going into all big games I know we are going to lose. I felt with Klein and Bishop and Roberson and even Freeman that we had a chance to win those games. Like against Baylor I knew we would lose (so did everyone, not really going out on a limb there). Even having a weapon like Lockett I just never felt like we had a shot. Takes an entire team, I know, but he made me concede those and it always turned out correct. I mean, who is the best team he beat? And he lost to a D2 school which got him off on the wrong foot with me. And his worship of ISU and Paul Rhoads. And his fantasy football team name made me think I'd dislike hanging out with him. And his standing around when the ball is on the ground in front of him (multiple times). Good stats though and I think he was much better this year with controlling the turnovers. I, like FAN, think I've been very fair with him and yet here we stand on opposite sides of his fence.

_fan doesn't really have the ability to be critical of active players or coaches or coaching decisions, so he likes waters more than most. it's his one glaring weakness, which is meant as a compliment because it's his only one.

I'm not sure I've seen any criticisms of Waters that couldn't also be made of any other Snyder QBs. Snyder's teams are all pretty much the same with regard to ability. There's nothing wrong with acknowledging that style is important.

one reason i don't really like him because other people think he is better than he really is. has that criticism been made?

also, because he just doesn't care much unless he's playing an iowa team. if our season was playing nothing but 12 games against iowa teams then i would put him in my top five qbs under snyder behind bishop, ell, may and collin which were all obviously way, way better.

he basically beat iowa state this year. could you imagine how embarrassing that loss would have been?

Because of the play calling and inability to run the ball anything but backward, you could say that Jake won every conf game we won.  I know that is diff than what mocat is saying.  It also allows dor the lopsided stats since all we can do adequately is pass

I haven't seen #1. Overall, I only see opinions here, the large majority of which is negative. But that's a reason I personally use a lot to dislike players and teams.

I'd classify #2 as style.

I would say more fans dislike him than like him. So I don't know who you're talking about, these ppl who think he's some super star.

I doubt he gets drafted either. I can understand why people dislike him. I think its stupid, but i understand. most polarizing player in a while.

But nobody hates him. He's just very not likeable and non-confidence-inspiring.

Quote
hate - verb
: to dislike (someone) very strongly : to feel hate for (someone)

: to dislike (something) very strongly : to find (something) very unpleasant

I'll go ahead and say I hate him.  The "something" might even be more applicable than the "someone" version of that definition.  We'd all be better off if he and K-State had never crossed paths.

I have to admit that I love seeing Joe Hubener come in late in games so we can run the football and throw ill-advised bombs.

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

I think it is incredible how he stacks up in this regard. The biggest x-factor, I think, is his bond with Lockett and Sexton and his ability to learn under CK. I think he did well with what he was given. It is hard to compare him to CK because CK had Hubert in the backfield.

OK, I forgot about Grant Gregory. I may hate him more for selfishly playing and moving Klein to WR when he should have been getting QB reps and delaying Klein's development and costing a national title.

Based off those stats, he's like the greatest qb of all time.

He has fantastic stats.  No doubt.  The only problem is that we had zero stats from anyone else not catching a jake-thrown ball.

You love Josh Freeman, but you wanna play this game? I guess Freeman had Texas, but not much after that.
