Let's efe em over.

2
We make the tourney with Tomlin, maybe even get into the second round. How much is a tourney bid worth to the school? Should the money come directly out of Linton's salary? I'm thinking yes.

Jerome Tang Coaches Kansas State Basketball / Farming out recruits
« on: February 25, 2024, 01:16:44 AM »
With the trend of depending heavily on veteran portal players and the limited playing time for freshmen, I'm wondering if P6 coaches will start steering recruits to lesser programs with a suggestion they have a spot for them in a couple years? That way they can gain experience and maybe have a little NIL cash steered their way. I don't think a Wichita State would go for a farming deal, but maybe a UMKC or schools of that status. So basically, I'm talking about low mid-majors serving the old juco role.
I doubt coaches would farm a top-50 prospect, but we're in a time when a 5-star like Omaha Beliew has only played in 11 games. I'm thinking a raw top 100 to 120 guy could benefit from a lot of playing time on a well-coached lesser team.

Season turnaround starts tonight in Austin

6
At least we're scoring. Jones has to hit that wide open 3 from the corner.

7
Hoping Cats and fans give these bums the proper send off.

8
We owe them for the sno bowl.

9
Sloppy so far

10
So far, it's right out Tech's script.

Jerome Tang Coaches Kansas State Basketball / Nova turneup game today

Southern Alabama? Isn't that whole state Southern enough already? Get 100 and get everyone stoked for Nova.
(edit: My bad, it's NORTH Alabama, an institutional contradiction. North? Sez who? Maybe it's that county of Jones that stay loyal to the Republic during the Civil war.)

Jonathon Brooks, Texas (22c/112yrds, 1td
Taj Brooks, TTU (17/98, 1td)
Marcus Carroll, Ga. St.
Blake Corum, Michigan
Ollie Gordon, Pokes (21/136, 1td)
Omarion Hampton, UNC
RJ Harvey, UCF (13/44, 1 td)
Damien Martinez, Oregon
Cody Schrader, Mizzou (10/58)
Kimani Vidal, Troy (17/83)

We faced four of these backs on the road, as well. Might put our rush defense stats in perspective.
(I added how the backs Cats faced fared against our D. Only 2 100 yard rushers, tho Brooks of Tech was right at that total. I would argue offensive ineptitude against OKSU contributed or Gordor's success against us.

Jerome Tang Coaches Kansas State Basketball / Abmas vs Perry
« on: November 20, 2023, 09:13:42 PM »
Curious how their stats were matching up since some on here acted as though Perry was much the recruiting consolation prize. This is both thru five games, tho I didn't update Abmas'steal and TO stats from the UCONN game.

FG%: Perry 40 (24-60), Abmas, 37.5 (26-64); 3-pt%: Perry 37.8 (17-45), Abmas 41.9 (13-31); FT%: Perry 96.9 (31-32), Abmas 75;

Reb: Perry 5.4, Abmas 3; Asst: Perry 4.8 Abmas 3.8; Stls: Perry 1.2, Abmas 1; TOs: Perry 1.8 Abmas 1.8; Pt/game: Perry 19.2 Abmas 13.6

What sticks out is that Perry is getting to the line at much greater rate and converting at an astounding rate, which explains much of the difference in per game scoring. Appears to be a stronger rebounder but sample size may fool.

Perry and Cam cannot be denied. RJ breaks out. Ames with 7 assists, Cam with 6 and Perry with 5. This is the best collection of guards I've seen at K-State ever.
Thank goodness we picked up McNair. Rich had some minutes.
Still a work in progress on D. Looks like our guards should be better at on-ball pressure.
Was Kaluma injured or getting sent a message?

Jones, Ames, Costello, Rich, Manning  are and whoever else are going to be very, very Naty contender good.

The event will also feature themed food items for each school

The Big 12 and Levy Restaurants will be introducing #Big12Eats at T-Mobile Center this year, a foodie-focused menu of items that will satisfy the palate of fans from every team. This menu will feature 10 school-specific food items, including:

The Baylor Float (Vanilla ice cream and Dr Pepper),

Cyclones Tenderloin (Kaiser bun, breaded pork tenderloin, sliced onion, sweet and spicy pickles),

Jayhawks Mac & Cheese (pasta and creamy white cheese sauce, topped with house-smoked pulled pork, Levy signature BBQ sauce, and crispy fried onions),

K-State’s Wabash Cannondog (Bacon wrapped jumbo hot dog topped with Wildcat Purple relish),

Stormin’ from Norman Oklahoma Taco (Frybread topped with ground beef, shredded lettuce, chopped tomato, beans, onions, and chili),

Pistol Pete’s OSU Fried Corn (Elote-style bacon-fried corn topped with crushed Doritos),

TCU Loaded Tots (tater tots, spicy queso sauce, chopped house smoked brisket, pico de gallo, topped with Horned Frog Purple sour cream),

Longhorn Quesadilla (Triple cheese quesadilla, steak or chicken, with Burnt Orange salsa rojo sauce),

Tech’s Masked Rider Burger (All beef patty, Cheddar, fried onion ring, sweet pickled jalapenos, and

They're 2-0 in conference, but they've struggled to beat two unranked teams. It looks like they have some pieces, but I haven't really watched them. Do they have anyone as dynamic as Quis,  as studly as Johnson or with the rim-rattling ability of Tomlin? It doesn't seem so if you need a no-call to beat the Pokes. Do you think they're a tourny team?
