My knee hurts but the orthopedist x-rayed it and said it is perfectly fine.  :dubious:

That's what they told me too. Ended up being my hip.

The last time my knee hurt, I just carried on like nothing was wrong and the pain went away. So brain, maybe?

Went to Mexico for vacation (Oaxaca!), totally awesome trip.  We took a series of busses and a motorized rickshaw to get to a village at the foot of a mountain that had a home made shrine at the top.  I couldn't get enough air walking up that damn mountain (the locals didn't believe in switchbacks in their mountain trails), and thought I was going to die.  Ran into a bent-over elderly woman on the trail, who told my Spanish-speaking companion that she walked to the top of the mountain to visit the shrine twice a day.....made me feel first like a big vagina, but later made me feel really old.

Well this has been going on for several years.

That's what they told me too. Ended up being my hip.

So your knee hurt but actually something was wrong with your hip?

Yes.  My hip never hurt.  All of the pain was down in my leg/knee.  After an MRI on my knee revealed nothing, they x-rayed my hip and it revealed that joint was absolutely destroyed.  Fast forward 11 months, new hip and no pain.  Hooray for modern medicine.

My hip hurts sometimes too but only about 5% as much/often as my knee. My knee isn't constant pain. Just when I am exercising or when I get out of bed or have been sitting for a long time. Or when the weather changes. Or at random times.

Sounds like what I was dealing with.

Needing a new hip would make me feel a lot older than the knee pain was making me feel.

Well, you get a cool card to carry around with you to show the TSA when you fly.  Also you instantly gain about 10 pounds.

No.  Just a card that you carry in your wallet that says you have new parts installed.  The metal detectors light up when you go through them.

I don't want to gain 10 lbs and get felt up every time I fly so I'll try to avoid needing a new hip.

I can assure you it wasn't high on my list either.  I just got tired of popping lortabs like PEZ and/or drinking a half bottle of vodka at night to go to sleep.  I hope you get it figured out.

Right now my shoulder blade area is in more pain than my knee so that's a higher priority. But, same story they basically said do these physical therapy exercises and quit whining.

For srz check and make sure it's not cobalt. Really good chance you'll get Cobalt poisoning and you'll start having all these neurological disorders that look a lot like Alzheimer's so docs will treat you for Alzheimer's and you'll die. If it's Cobalt get that bad boy outta there like yesterday.
